This weekend — baking Friday and selling Saturday — gave me a pretty good idea of what I need to work on with my current limitations. And honestly, I’m taking notes. 💙

I posted this reel way back at the beginning of market season… and I watched it again today and thought, yep. It still applies. ❤️

Farmers markets have become SUCH a huge part of Twilight Farm Shoppe. Honestly, I don’t know that I ever could have imagined just how much they would mean to me when I started this little business.

It’s so much more than showing up with bread and pastries and hoping people buy something.

It’s the people. The conversations. The familiar faces. The friendships. The farmers I get to work alongside. The customers who come looking for their favorite loaf every week. The people who have been following along for years and the ones who just found me last week.

And I am SO incredibly grateful that this business has given me a way to be a small part of communities all across Surry County. Mount Airy, Pilot Mountain, Elkin… each market has its own personality and its own people, and I genuinely love being part of all of it.

So if you’ve stopped by my booth this season, bought a loaf, said hello, shared a post, told a friend about me, or just cheered me on from the sidelines — thank you.

You are a really big part of why I get to keep doing this crazy little thing I love so much. 🥖💙

To everyone who came out to support us at the farmers markets in Elkin and Pilot Mountain this weekend — thank you. Truly.

Thank you for every purchase, every kind word, every message, and especially for all of you reminding me to slow down, take it easy, and give myself some grace. I hear you, and I appreciate you more than you know. 🥹💙

We’re going to do our very best to show up at all of our markets this week, and I’m very thankful to have some extra help coming in this week, too!

And a little reminder as we head into another busy week: please utilize our pre-order form whenever you can! It helps us make sure we have what you want, how you want it, and — most importantly — that it’s waiting for you on the day you want it.

It makes a HUGE difference on the production side, especially as we try to keep up with everything happening behind the scenes. 🥰

We’ve got a little bit of everything with us this morning — long-fermented sourdough breads, sandwich bread, English muffins, focaccia, sourdough flights, breakfast pastries, loaf cakes, and sweet treats!

As summer starts to wane, it’s getting harder to find the tomatoes I love to use for our Sun-Dried Tomato Basil Mozzarella bread. 🍅🌿🧀

Thankfully, I have lots of wonderful friends who are farmers! ❤️

I’m hoping to get two more big loads of tomatoes through the dehydrator this week so I can stock up on that beautiful summer flavor and keep making one of our favorite breads for as long as possible.

Because when you use real, seasonal ingredients…sometimes you have to think ahead and preserve a little bit of summer while you still can. ☀️🍅

Here’s hoping my tomato friends come through for me one more time! 🤞
