If you find yourself with a major leak:
• Be sure to turn off your water at the breaker box so as not to flood your crawlspace or yard
• Don’t be alarmed if water continues to flow for a short period of time after cutting the power because it has a pressurized system behind it.

A few weeks ago we posted about a hydro frack- a service that helps in clearing the well water veins to produce a higher volume of water. A similar service we offer is called a hydro surge. This is when we clear out the well of any mineral build up. The pictures below show the water before and after the hydro surge was completed.

If you find yourself without water, here are a few things you can do:
• Check your breaker box to make sure you have power going to your well.
• Check the spigot at the well to see if it’s a well issue or a plumbing issue.
• Check any filters- if you have them- to see if they’re clogged.
• Call us! We prioritize emergency no water calls and will get a technician to you as soon as possible!

Today is Embrace Your Geekness day so we wanted to share some fun facts and statistics.
• Approximately 25% of rainwater becomes groundwater, which supplies wells.
• The deeper your well, the less likely your water will be contaminated. Shallow wells are close to the surface and often aren’t as protected from run-off and toxins.
• The single most important part of your well is the well cap. A broken or loose well cap can lead to contaminated well water.

On the topic of well water, we do free mineral tests- ph, hardness, and iron.
• your ph level should be 7.0- anything below that is highly acidic and can corrode your pipes.
• hardness should be 0 ppm
• iron should be 0 ppm.
