Tallow isn’t glamorous, and neither is rendering it, but it has so many benefits! Tallow is rich in antioxidants, fat soluble vitamins, and is incredibly compatible with our own skin cell biology. Today I’m infusing some of our bison tallow with some of my favorite skin-loving dried herbs from our garden and around the farm. I like to mix our bison tallow with a bit of beeswax to make salve, or use it by itself as moisturizer. Tallow can be used for cooking, soap-making and candle-making. It’s pretty neat!

We are beyond excited to share our stand at Central Market York with Calyx Native Nursery this Saturday, October 9 from 9AM-2PM. Fall is an excellent time to plant Native Perennials. If you haven't thought about adding Native plants to your landscape, we urge you to do so. It's one of the easiest ways to benefit the local ecosystem right in your own backyard!

We're excited!!

Our next location this Saturday! We’ll be visiting The Bison Farm’s stand at the Central Market 😁 Native North American Bison and native plants go well together! Bison are known to be beneficial to native plants and assisting with biodiversity in ecosystems. And of course they would! They’ve evolved with each other over thousands of years!

I will have another box of $2 native plants on sale. I’ll post our plant list below. The Butterfly Milkweed is going dormant now 😴 But, if you’d like some, let me know and I’ll bring them along!

We had a wonderful time at the Eastern Bison Association’s Fall Conference at Bracy Gold Bison Ranch in Swanton, OH. Ohio State University was there to speak on pasture management and extended grazing. And as you can see, new friends were made ❤️.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE MEAT, please reach out via messenger, phone, or text to place your order. We are accepting PayPal and cash with exact change (in a drop box) as our only form of payment, and doing "porch pick up" here on our farm to eliminate person to person contact.
