It’s not goat babies, but we’re hatching out our hen replacements. Nate built me a custom chick brooding box until they’re ready for the big house. Some of our old hens will likely meet the circle of life come fall.

Had the opportunity to learn something new! I’ve never experienced putting in cidr to program or seen it done. A huge thanks to Two One Seven Farms for letting me be a part of this!

Even the girls deserve fresh greens. I love the lawn sweeper Nate talked me into. They don’t get out anymore since it’s been such a problem with my neighbor. And the girls refuse to learn where our property lines are, so this works.

Working the herd today, hooves trimmed if needed, weaning the ones who need to come off. Admiring the GOT Hank genetics in the 2026 kid crop.

Does she have a registry name, yep. Did I name her Pet, also yep. She’s the only friendly doe on the farm and she makes me smile when dealing with the other turds, so 😝.

This guy has caught my attention, along with some in our other pen. We will see how they turn out after weening, that’s usually the hardest part for them.

Don’t mind the winter coat shedding. CTNF Betty White and CTNF Maeve will be the last of our JMI Kraken’s Skullcap daughters to leave our farm.
