Well… based on the thunder, lightning, wind, and general end-of-the-world vibes last night, we were expecting to find Noah building an ark this morning. 🌧️⛈️😂

Instead, the rain gauge says we got right at 1 inch.

Don’t get us wrong—we’ll gladly take every drop—but we definitely thought that storm brought a lot more!

How much rain did you get at your place? Drop your totals (& your town) in the comments!

We are feeling incredibly grateful and honestly a little emotional.

A huge thank you to The Derby Informer for reaching out and wanting to learn more about Branine Family Farm and the heart behind what we are building. It means so much to have our story shared with the community.

When Jarid and I bought our chickens last year, we had no idea this is where it would lead. What started as something small has grown into a dream we didn’t even fully know we had yet. Our love for agriculture, animals, family, and community has turned into something that we get to share with all of you — and that is such a blessing.

To every customer who has bought eggs from the porch, stopped by the farmstand, shared our posts, asked about our animals, purchased from us, encouraged us, or simply followed along — thank you. Truly. You are the reason this little farm keeps growing. Your support has allowed us to dream bigger, try new things, and continue working toward creating a fun, family-friendly place for our community to enjoy.

We are still learning, growing, and building, but we are so thankful for every single person who has been part of this journey with us so far.

Thank you for loving our farm, our animals, and our family the way you have.

We’re your BFF. 🤎

What started as a surplus of eggs has quickly grown into something much bigger for Summer Branine and her family.

And honestly… look at this tiny egg! 🥹🥚

Our quail girls are growing up and starting to fill the cartons. Tiny eggs, big farm excitement around here. 🤍🐦

Only in Kansas can you spend the evening feeding animals and pulling weeds, then sit down and watch Mother Nature put on a better show than anything on TV.

Crickets in the background.
Thunder in the distance.
Endless prairie sky overhead.

Not a bad way to end the day. 🤎

Nobody told me that at 40, my version of a midlife crisis would be planting an acre of sweet corn and checking it three times a day to see if it grew another inch. 🌽🤣

Meanwhile, at Branine Family Farm…

A gorgeous pheasant casually strolls through.
The cows keep eating.
The chickens keep causing problems.
And I stop everything I’m doing to take 47 pictures.

Sounds about right. 🤣

Normal people: “What are you planting this year?”

Me: “Yes.”

That’s it. That’s the answer.

150x300 feet sounded huge until I started making my planting list. 🌱😂

🎃 This pumpkin vine has the confidence level I’m trying to have in 2026.

Grew through a pile of rocks.
Ignored all logic.
Refused to die.
Started producing pumpkins.

Meanwhile, I research soil amendments, companion plants, watering schedules, and fertilizer rates. This thing said, “Nah, I’m good.”

Three pumpkins and counting. 😂
