We didn’t catch a lot of shrimp this trip, but we did bring back a small batch of fresh, local shrimp — and we’ll be set up tomorrow at 10:00 AM at Inlet Rocks Bait & Tackle.

🦐 Ever Wonder Why You May Get a Shrimp of a Different Color Mixed In?

Good question — and the answer has everything to do with season, water temperature, and where the shrimp are coming from.

👉 This time of year, most of what we’re catching are Large / Jumbo WHITE shrimp.
As the water temperature drops, white shrimp migrate down our coast, and they become our main target.

👉 Brown shrimp, on the other hand, are what you mostly find inside our estuaries.
They’re usually caught earlier in the season, right when those estuary water temps start to cool and they begin flowing out.

🔍 Key differences:

White shrimp
• Grow larger (that’s your jumbo size)
• Migrate along the coast in cooler temps
• Mild, sweet flavor

Brown shrimp
• Don’t grow quite as big
• Live in the estuaries most of the season
• Richer, stronger shrimp flavor

So if you ever spot a mix of colors, that’s just Mother Nature doing her thing — not old shrimp, not mixed batches, just different shrimp from different parts of the water.

🦐 Either way, it’s local, fresh, and right off the boat — exactly how shrimp should be.

We just want to give a HUGE thank-you to everyone who came out this past weekend to grab some of the freshest shrimp in the inlet. Y’all showed up big, and we appreciate every single one of you!

It sounds like the local sh*****ng has slowed down a bit — that’s just how this time of year goes — but you know us… we’ll be back out there checking, dragging, and keeping an eye on things. 🌊🛥️

👉 We’ll post the next time we have enough shrimp to set up and sell.
Because one thing we’ll never do is let shrimp sit on a boat for days just to make a sale.
If it’s not fresh, we don’t sell it. Period.

Life got busy with kids and running charters, so I stepped away from sh*****ng for a bit… but now I’m back in the game for the winter season!
