You can't tell me what to do. I'm 8 cups of coffee in with 5 tiny monsters.
At this point, the ducklings and I are making decisions based entirely on vibes.
I went outside to check on the flock for five minutes and somehow ended up inspecting the garden, planning three new homestead projects, reorganizing the duck coop, and convincing myself I absolutely need another raised bed.
The ducklings aren't helping either.
Every morning they wake up with the confidence of a middle manager and the impulse control of a squirrel that found an espresso machine.
One of them tried to eat a leaf. One tried to fight a shadow. One forgot where the water was. And somehow they're still the most emotionally stable members of this farm.
People keep saying I should find healthier ways to manage stress.
Have you considered watching baby ducks waddle across fresh bedding while holding a giant cup of coffee and pretending your to-do list doesn't exist?
Because that's worked surprisingly well so far.
If you've ever spent more time watching your ducks than folding your laundry, welcome to the homesteading club. We meet daily in the garden and accomplish absolutely nothing we originally planned.
