Went to put our birds up for the evening and found one crawling with mites. Which is very weird because we pick these birds up all the time. It’s something we would have noticed. They were all over the walls, the bedding, and the birds.

So not only did we clean it, we modified it (pulled out some boards that were just collecting debris) removed the roosting bars, torched it (see comments for fun video of that), applied Elector PSP to every inch, applied Permethrin, add fresh bedding, and sprayed each bird with PSP.

All of us were crawling with mites. Our clothes went straight into the wash and we all took vigorous showers. Still feels like they’re all over me. 😑

Went out at 9:15pm, came back in for showers at 12:15am. It was a very long night.

The morning haul from yesterday. I like to grab the eggs when I see them. It prevents breakage when the hens fight over the SAME nesting box and reduces the chance that these dirty birds will mess these pretty, pretty eggs. ❤️
