The Storybook Cottage in Greenbrier (just about 30 minutes from Nashville) is a MUST VISIT for book lovers of all ages. 📚✨

From the moment you walk inside, you’re transported to Wonderland along with Alice (the fantasy fiction room), and it only becomes more magical from there. 🪄

Turn to your right and walk through a wardrobe right into Narnia and a Hobbit hole, while you browse children’s books.

Head to the left, and you’ll find 221B Baker Street in London, with all the non-fiction and mysteries your heart desires. 🔎

Bridgerton, Great Gatsby, and so many other favorites are there, many with interactive buttons - but I don’t want to ruin all of the surprises!

The coffee shop menu features monthly seasonal drinks - and everything has a literary punny name - as it should! 👏🏻

The Storybook Cottage brings together a love for books and theater, and it’s just the sort of whimsical adventure that everyone can enjoy. Be sure to follow them for story times, book bedazzling nights, and other events. ✨

Hey, so it’s going to rain again all week… But don’t let that get you down. There are so many fun things happening this week, so use the rain as an excuse to get out and try something new. 👏🏻

Of note is this week’s sponsored event, at the new .go. Nashville Cabaret is a modern burlesque and variety show, inspired by the classic cabaret and infused with the spirit of Nashville - a combination of burlesque, sideshow, country hits, and immersive stage performance. Their next show is this Friday, June 12, and tickets are available at the link in their bio. 💃🏼

Of course, as always, if you want to see the rest of the events happening this week - and well into this year - comment NEWSLETTER and I’ll send you the link to sign up for my much more exhaustive weekly event guide sent right to your inbox every Monday morning!

Have a good week, y’all! ✨

Cover 📸: host of one of my favorite events . A local professor comes in to talk about an interesting topic, and it’s just a unique thing to do, perfect for a rain week. These often sell out, so don’t procrastinate on your tickets.

The best summer treats are at Middle Grounds Coffee! 👏🏻

Shayne (the owner) has done it again, coming up with the most creative ways to be caffeinated!

Whether you prefer a vanilla latte or matcha, or you want to go the always refreshing lemonade route, all three of these popsicles are delicious. And I hear they’re going to be experimenting with other flavors soon. 🍓👀

They’re good right out of the freezer, but I highly recommend letting them melt a little to be more slushy (especially the lemonade!)

These are equivalent to about a 6 ounce latte, and for only $4, I definitely recommend trying two or three of them!

This coffee shop is “older than most of Nashville!” ☕️

I’m doing a series on Nashville Originals, businesses that have been around for at least 25 years, and certainly qualifies!

This cozy coffee shop and cafe has been serving Nashville craft coffee since before it was cool - they opened in 1993! (I mean, I’m older than that…but still.)

They even went viral before that was cool, gaining fame in 1996 for the Nun Bun - a cinnamon bun that looked like Mother Theresa. 🙏🏻

During the school year, it definitely helps Belmont students stay caffeinated. But, it’s a great spot for locals to work, grab a light bite with friends, or just sit on the patio and people watch year round.

Their sister shop, , is closing in 2028 (we love a restaurant that gives us a long time to process! 👏🏻), but let’s help spare Bongo the same fate by keeping it in your coffee shop rotation. ✨

Brunch season is in full swing, and if you prefer the boozy variety, here are a few local spots that offer bottomless mimosas (and other brunch faves!) ☕️

I did check this list before posting, but sometimes websites aren’t up to date, so I definitely always recommend calling first.

And if you want to see my full list of over 15 spots, head to the link in the comments!🥂

🥂 - Germantown, obvs.
🥂 - an afternoon brunch in WeHo, with a rooftop option!
🥂 - Downtown. This photo is theirs because I don’t have a good one there.
🥂 - Sylvan Park

Honorable Mentions:
- Melrose
- Berry Hill

I recently saw a post about ( a d ) and it jumped to the top of my list. 👀

I don’t know why I’d never been, but in addition to their Food Network-fampus Squawking Goat - a chicken biscuit with goat cheese and pepper jelly - they have a full menu of breakfast and lunch dishes, including quite a few bowls and really something for the whole family.

I could live off of those green onion hash browns. 😍

With that MASSIVE round table, board games, and neighborhood spot vibes, it’s a great spot if you’ve got family and friends visiting this summer (CMA Fest anyone), or just hanging out and catching up over some coffee (or mimosas). 🥂

Sometimes it’s hard to accommodate a full crew in Nashville, but Maple Street makes it easy, with a little touch of Nashville flair. 🎸✨

I thought I knew about every coffee shop in Nashville, but is a true hidden gem. 😻

Tucked inside an unassuming building in North Nashville, Crossroads is part of a social enterprise to give homeless pets their forever home, while also supporting young adults with barriers to housing and entering the work force.

First, the cafe - 8th & Roast coffee (10/10 recommend the Cheshire Cat Latte - ube cold foam is INCREDIBLE), with plenty of places to work, hang out, or just watch the cats play.

You can reserve time with the cats online, and although all of their pups are currently adopted (yay!), more will be coming soon, and can also be visited or you can foster a dog for the day.

They have a pet store in Germantown and offer grooming services - all of which support their mission of healing through the human-animal bond and providing job training for the young adults.

Founded by Emmy Lou Harris and others, in consultation with Father Charles Strobel of Room in the Inn, Crossroads is a really special place and should be at the top of your list. ✨

Google Maps, again coming in clutch! 👏🏻 When I saw on Google Maps recently, I knew I immediately had to try it. The pictures looked so cute, and the reviews were so great, that I made a point to drive down in the rain to check it out for myself.

This cozy coffee shop is owned by sisters who moved back to the area to care for their dad a few years ago. Stormie currently runs it, and she serves a full coffee and food menu, with truly something for everyone. ☕️

But it’s the beautiful space that really sets it apart. Bring the kids (or not), and plan to stay all day sitting around a fire pit, enjoying the peaceful sounds of the creek, playing some lawn games. It’s a little rural oasis that is worth the drive from Nashville.

Make your plans to go visit them soon! ✨
