It’s the 3rd annual Essential Guide to Nashville Coffee shops! ☕️ The coffee experts at Caffeinated & Confident ™ and the vibes expert at The Tip Jar: the Xennial’s Guide to Nashville 🎸✨ have teamed up to help you keep track of the ever growing Nashville coffee scene!

Per usual, this year saw a few new shops, some closings, and other shifts on the leaderboard. So, we’ve tracked down the best coffee, the best places to work, and the most aesthetic shops (think cozy and/or Instagrammable) and created your go-to resource!

Congrats to Humphreys Street and LivinHumphreys Street (WesLiving Waters Brewingveted middle spot - great for coffee and working and providing a great aesthetic!

Mountain Mike's Pizza ⛰ has come to Tennessee ( a d ) and now you can try this giant, delicious pizza for yourself and see why it is so popular! 🍕

As you would guess, the pizza is the showstopper. Their Mountain-sized 20-inch pie is the biggest pizza I’ve ever seen (for reference, a typical large is 14 inches). This one could easily have fed a family of 4 - as it was, my friend and I took home enough leftovers for both of us to have at least two more meals!

But, it’s also good. I LOVE a super cheesy pizza with lots of toppings, and Mountain Mike’s fits the bill. They’re known for their crispy, curly pepperoni (and lots of them!) and some amazing cheese pulls.

I was surprised that they also had great wings! On the smaller side, but cooked to crispy perfection and well-flavored. 🍗

Go Monday through Friday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for an old-school lunch buffet (with a well-stocked salad bar! 👏), or take the whole family and let the kids play games while the adults watch football or catch up.

Calling all Swiftie moms and Taylor’s Tots! 💖

There is a Taylor Swift themed playground at Memorial Park in Hendersonville! Funded by the Queen, there are little nods to her throughout, but it’s also just a fun playground for any kids, Swiftie or not.

And, it’s a really nice park for grown-ups, too. ✨

This community-focused coffee shop started as a cart, then opened in Clarksville, and now they have a Nashville location that is bright and airy and great for working or for conversation. They’re open now, but the grand opening week is Sept. 21-26.

Locally owned fast food with pastrami, burgers, and more. You may have gone to the one downtown in the old Hermitage Cafe. Now you can try it out in Cool Springs, too!

Spooky pop-ups are here, with Hidden Bar and Virgin Hotels Nashville (pictured) kicking things off, and several others to come in the next few weeks.

This Chicago-style pizza staple in Germantown has been quite candid about the struggles staying in business as an independent restaurant in Nashville. They received a grant and have a GoFundMe live, which helped them stay afloat a little longer…but, they still really need our help.

Rhino Booksellers is a true old Nashville gem, and one you’ve probably driven past a million times, maybe without noticing. 📚

I’m doing a series on Nashville originals, businesses that have been around for at least 25 years, and Rhino celebrates its 25th birthday this year! 👏🏻

Since it opened in 2001, Rhino has had one owner, Fred Koller, but the number of books that have passed through its doors could never be measured.

Carrying used and rare books, as well as instruments and vinyls, this shop is so expansive; every time I thought I’d reached the end, I found another nook with even more books! You could literally spend all day here, and probably still not see everything.

Whether you’re a collector, or just looking for something new-to-you to read, there’s something for everyone at Rhino. So, give them a visit soon, and let’s keep this Nashville Original open for at least another 25 years! ✨

Gordo's Taqueria ( a d ) has nearly 50 years of tacos, burritos, and family history! 🌮

This family-owned business has been around since 1977, and now the second generation is carrying on that tradition right here in Nashville.

They specialize in Mission-style burritos, along with tacos, quesadillas, and more, and almost everything is made in-house.

I loved the story of their queso - it wasn’t originally on the menu, but customers kept asking for it, so they listened and created their own custom blend. And it’s delicious. 👏🏻

Beyond the food, this is the kind of place I love supporting. The owners are hands-on, they know their regulars, and the service was excellent.

Plus, parking is easy. Grab a street spot or park in the lot and they’ll validate your first hour.

Good food, and a great local business. Be sure to add this one to your list! ✨

Robertson County is always cute and charming ( a d ) but Experience Robertson County day is a perfect excuse to visit because you can also win money! 👏🏻

On Saturday, Sept. 12, spend the day exploring all 11 communities throughout the county, with a different FREE experience waiting at each stop.

You’ve probably seen Bar-B-Cutie SmokeHouse ( a d ) all over Middle Tennessee, but did you know it started right here in Nashville more than 75 years ago? 👏🏻

I’m doing a series on Nashville originals, businesses that have been around for at least 25 years, and the first Bar-B-Cutie opened on Murfreesboro Road in 1950 as a tiny carhop with just four tables. 🥹

The McFarland family took over in 1958, expanded the restaurant, and eventually franchised the Nashville favorite.

Today, new generations of the McFarlands own the Nashville outposts, keeping their family tradition of good, classic barbecue and Southern sides, with even better service, alive and well.

I tried some 1950 Bar-B-Cutie SmokeHouse Classics, like the BBQ on cornbread with cole slaw plate with BBQ beans & whipped potatoes with gravy, as well as the new Baron Sandwich - hickory smoked pork and smoked jalapeno & cheese sausage with their sweet BBQ sauce, melted cheese, and onion rings. Plus, pickle chips, creamed corn, mac & cheese…🤤

I have a ton of leftovers and cannot wait to eat them!
