Did you know Las Palmas Mexican Restaurante is locally and family owned? 🌮 (Hosted)

I’m doing a series on Nashville originals, businesses that have been open at least 25 years, and Las Palmas opened its first doors on Charlotte Pike in 1990.

Since then, they’ve expanded to 9 locations in Middle Tennessee, and next week, they’re celebrating their anniversary with deals for all of us! šŸ‘

On Thursday, August 20th, enjoy 50% off all dine-in food orders at any of their 9 Nashville locations, as well as have a chance to win prizes like Titans, Preds, and Nashville SC tickets - and more surprises! You can find more details on the giveaways and enter to win at the link in their bio.

Happy birthday, Las Palmas! We’re glad you’re here! ✨

The viral butter dipped ice cream has arrived in Nashville! šŸ§ˆšŸ¦

We interrupt this week of Nashville Originals to bring you something that is quite the opposite - a viral trend that has finally graced our fair city!

Butter dipped ice cream has become a phenomenon in NYC, and now thanks to Chef David Henriquez at Silo Nashville, we get to try it without booking a plane ticket!

Available in a cone or cup (the cup would be less messy, word to the wise!), in peach, vanilla, or swirl - and for free to the first 50 customers in line THIS Saturday, August 15 from 11-noon. Head to the 5 Points window outside to pick yours up!

It’s a delicious novelty that’s worth a try just for the fun of it…and because who doesn’t like a little more butter? ✨

One of only a few stores in the entire country dedicated to the art of miniatures, Debra Marlowe in Berry Hill is a true gem in the Nashville community. 🄹

I’m doing a series on Nashville originals, businesses that have been around for at least 25 years, and Miniature Cottage opened almost 50 years ago and they’ve been delighting children and adults ever since.

Whether you want to add some fun details to your child’s dollhouse, or you are a creator or hobbyist, or you just want spend a day browsing cute things, there’s something for everyone.

They also refurbish homes there, so if you’re like me and have a disheveled dollhouse from your childhood that you’d like to fix up, this may be the place for you. šŸ

When I was four, I had to have a minor surgery, but there was an elaborately decorated dollhouse in the waiting room, and I have never forgotten it. To this day, it is my most profound memory of that experience. That and when they asked me if I wanted bubblegum, I thought they meant actual gum, not anesthesia, and I was not happy with the trick. šŸ˜’

Be sure to stop by and see this unique store soon, and let’s keep celebrating these businesses that make Nashville so special. ✨

One of the prettiest restaurants in Nashville is SADIE’S in Edgehill…and they just happen to also have a fantastic happy hour!

Whether you prefer cocktails (their house frosĆ© is šŸ¤ŒšŸ»), beer, or wine, they’ve got you covered from 4-6, M-Th.

And if mocktails are more your thing, they have a great selection of N/A bevvies in town - also offered as specials during HH!

Their whipped feta is amazing - and conveniently, also a happy hour special. ✨

Melissa’s Melissa's Sir Pizza Charlotte has been serving Nashville since 1966, although Melissa herself purchased it in 2016. šŸ•

I’m doing a series on Nashville Originals, businesses that have been around for at least 25 years, and while Sir Pizza is a chain, this location has always been family owned, and Melissa and her family are as local as they come.

I debated making a reel because I can’t capture the coziness and nostalgia of this cute little spot in photos. But I wanted to tell more of the story, so you’ll just have to visit and see for yourself. 🄰

But don’t wait! You only have until August 29 to check out this historic location. Then, be sure to check their website and Facebook for updates on the new location, hopefully coming soon! And, there is a GoFundMe set up on their Facebook if you feel so inclined to help ease the burden of the transition. šŸ™šŸ»

But either way, definitely go get some pizza! ✨

This bodega/coffee shop/neighborhood bar is now open in North Nashville, and it’s such a good gathering place for the whole community.

Vannie's Table is a locally owned shop, named after the owner’s daughter, with a kids play area, games for the whole family, seating for getting work done, or space to watch the game. They have a full coffee menu, a small bar with great happy hour specials, snacks, and a grocery with lots of local products.

Plus, a great partnership with Birria Babe Nashville / Chef Nadine / Taco Queen , so on the weekends, grab some delicious tacos and plan to stay a while! ✨

If you could only go to one restaurant based on your astrological sign type, these are the ones that I would recommend. šŸ’«šŸŒ–

I know very little about astrology, so I did the best I could with the Google descriptions, lol.

This is obviously intended just to be fun, so feel free to (nicely) let me know which ones you might swap out. ✨

šŸ“ø : I didn’t have any pictures from Sinatra’s or Bastion, so those photos are theirs.

Nashville isn’t the only place with whimsy! šŸ’–

Here are some other spots throughout Middle and Eastern Tennessee that are making life just a little more sparkly and fun!

I intended for this to be my final post in the whimsy series, but if you all give me enough other state-wide places to explore (West TN, anyone? šŸ‘€), maybe I’ll do another round. ✨

I didn’t really think I was a Chicago-style girly, but then I had Campione’s Taste of Chicago , and I can’t stop thinking about it. šŸ•

This family owned spot in Gallatin and Mt. Juliet is authentic as they come. Originally from Chicago with Italian roots, they are Tennessee’s only inductee into the Vienna Beef Hotdog Hall of Fame.

But, I came for the pizza, and I was not disappointed. Order ahead, as it does take about 40 minutes or so for the deep dish, and plan to feed the whole family or get several meals out of it. It’s an 8-slice pie, and I was very full after two.

They’re closed on Sundays to spend time with family (and watch Da Bears, of course), but stop by Monday-Saturday in Mt. Juliet and Gallatin and see if you don’t leave saying they’re your new fave, too. ✨

Back 2 The Video Store is now open in Germantown! šŸ“¼ This nostalgic 90s/Y2K pop-up features themed photo ops and cocktails, retro arcade games, throw-back snacks, and more. And as a former Blockbuster employee (lol), it warmed my heart. šŸ–¤

The pop-up is open Wed-Sunday through Sept 19. Tickets are required and an available at the link in Back 2 The Video Store bio, but they do include a drink! šŸ¹

This is a fun one for us Xennials, so lean into the nostalgia and have a good time! ✨
