Our makunouchi bento from Monday’s drop was one of our favorite yet! Here’s a rundown of everything in the box:
•Claypot Rice with Nishiki Sesame Seed
•Swordfish Teriyaki, inspired by our visit to , glazed with eel bone sauce
• Her Produce baby Japanese sweet potatoes with yuzu miso made from last year’s fresh yuzu
•Smoky marinated RC Farms tomatoes with hanaho and pickled myoga
•Simmered Namafu(millet and wheat gluten from Kyoto Kitchen Inc. )

Be sure to select delivery if you want your bento brought directly to your home, office, studio, etc. or pick-up from one of our wonderful partners thedennashville in East Nashville(shop for all sorts of goodies from home decor to high quality snacks when you swing in to grab your order ), MEEL in Wedgewood-Houston(pick up some local and artisan ingredients while you’re there), or Gong cha U.S. Official also in Wedgewood-Houston(also, you can grab a boba to go with your bento while you’re picking up)!

SourceWater Bento x Namiroku.

It is such an honor to have been able to collaborate with the oldest bento shop in the world and bring a taste of Edo(old Tokyo) to Nashville. We had to really flex our sourcing muscles for this one including shipping Kari Kari Ume from Japan, sourcing Namafu from in LA and having our friend go pick it up and ship it via to for delivery, switching our usual soy sauce to a high quality Kikkoman soy sauce because that is what Benmatsu uses and Kikkoman is a Tokyo based company, and finding beautiful swordfish that met the size standard of Higuchi-San courtesy of in Maine. Additionally we subbed in some local ingredients like the Carolina Conch Peas from for the kinton, Snow Peas from RC Farms via , Shiitake Mushrooms from , and some really beautiful Bamboo Shoots from Florida. The effort that goes into these boxes extends beyond the cooking and packaging. All in the name of quality and authenticity. We love sharing our bento and bringing a truly unique experience to our community in Nashville!
