Cajun Hot Tamales and Hot Dogs Old-fashioned Cajun Hot Tamales, 11 time award winning chili, and award winning bread pudding. I have been making them at a pretty steady rate since then.

When I was 18 years old, my grandmother gave me her recipe book before she passed away. I started making her hot tamales in 2010 and have not looked back. It is in thanks to God, my grandmother and family, and everyone who supports me.

It is 16 years this month that I have been making my famous hot tamales, going to markets, and now having a food trailer. As I reflect on the last 16 years, I could not help but think about what a wonderful blessing this has been for me and my family. Not just being able to make and sell them, but the customers I have met that have become friends. So many who have told me how much they enjoy my hot tamales because it reminds them of someone special to them who made hot tamales and is no longer with us. I know how special that time was for me when my Maw Maw would get us together at her house to make hot tamales. So if I can bring back a special memory for someone by sharing my hot tamales with them, then I know I am doing God’s work.

The kitchen in the home that was my Maw Maw’s is being remodeled as we speak. I cannot wait for my husband and I to be able to cook our first batch of hot tamales for our freezer in the kitchen where our famous hot tamales were born.

My Maw Maw is a special angel. There is no doubt in my mind she knew I would be sharing something out of her recipe book. I am thankful everyday for my ability to help someone, somewhere to remember a special memory by sharing my hot tamales.

Here’s to many more years to help our customers to remember their loved ones through our hot tamales.

😁 We are excited to announce that we will be competing in the 2026 BYOB (Bring Your Own Best) Hot Dog Festival in Youngsville on Sunday, April 12th at the Youngsville Amphitheater.

🌭 Our hot dogs, made with our famous 11 time award winning chili on fresh Lejeune’s hot dog buns, will be competing for best hot dog against some amazing cooking teams.

Cajun Hot Tamales began in March 2010 from a recipe gifted from my Maw Maw in her recipe book. As a child, I sat in my Maw Maw’s kitchen writing recipes in her book. Before she passed away, she gifted her recipe book to me, which included her hot tamale recipe.

When you eat our famous hot tamales, we share a little bit of my Maw Maw and my childhood with all of you. Every hot tamale made is special to us to share with you.

Today is 33 years that my Maw Maw passed away. Her life and memory will always be passed on through Cajun Hot Tamales.

People ask me all the time what goes in to making hot tamales. A LOT of work. It is mostly done over three days. The first day we mix the meat and put it in the refrigerator over night. The second day we roll the tamales and cook them. Because they are cooked in a Magnalite pot, we have to let them cool for many hours. The third day we bag and freeze the tamales. It is a long process, but it is soooooo worth it!!!! I am so thankful that my Maw Maw not only passed the recipe on to me, but she also taught me how to make them, which I, in turn, have taught my sweet husband to make. We will continue to share a little of my Maw Maw with all of our customers.
