Hey farm family. I wanted to share one of the things I did today.

So yesterday when we brought back those giant white pumpkins from the in-laws. My brilliant hubby thought, let's put a 40-50 pounds pumpkin up on the flower cooler. My first thought was it rolling off & smashing on the floor. Oh the foreshadowing. I nixxed that idea & said let's put them on the bottom shelf of that metal shelf. One problem, they didn't fit. They were too tall. So we decided to adjust the shelf above a bit so they would fit. That shelf hasn't been adjusted since it was put together. The way it wasn't coming apart that was when the dinosaurs ruled the earth. Brian in his wisdom decides to use a piece of 2x4 board to beat on it. As he is smacking the hell out of this shelf I notice a banana squash start bouncing towards the edge of its shelf. As I yell stop, Brian is still whaling on this shelf like it owes him money or something, the squash falls to the floor. Yup, it cracked in several places. So today I cut it up & made pie filling (or whatever you would use it for).
After cleaning out the seeds & stringy stuff, which is very easy. I baked it in a pan with some water & foil covering it at 400 degrees for about 90 minutes. As soon as it was fork tender I removed it from the oven & let it cool an hour covered. Next I drained the excess water off & scooped out all of the meat being careful not to get the skin of the squash in it. I mashed it with a hand masher & then I bagged mine up in 2 cups in freezer bags (about the amount in a can of pumpkin pie filling). I ended up with 5 bags with 2 cups & 1 bag with 2 1/2 cups for a total of 12 1/2 cups of beautiful cooked squash. It was so simple. So don't fear the squash. Embrace it! We love this squash & use it in place of pumpkin in everything you would use pumpkin in.

Have a great night farm family & don't worry I am hiding Brian's board! LOL

Hey farm merch wanting farm family.
I pressed 10 more shirts today!
I added 2 medium size as well as I had some smaller sized peeps asking about shirts. There is also a beautiful pink in 2XL with our flower design on it (that we normally do not sell) but a certain person wanted one. It maybe a bit large but better than too small.
So we have more large, x-large & 2x-large out in different colors & prints.

EXCITING NEWS! Our stickers have arrived! They are not a standard paper sticker. They are meant to be permanent on hard surfaces. They are water resistant but NOT dishwasher safe. So if you put it on a water bottle you must hand wash it. We have 4 different prints. I will be bagging them up with instructions tomorrow & they should be out by Friday.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR SUPPORTING US WITH THIS FUNDRAISER!
We appreciate you all so much! We decided to offer these as a flood recovery fundraiser. So it really means so much to us that you have supported us either by buying a shirt or shopping at the farm.

We love you guys soooooooo much!
