STILL GOING. STILL GROWING. 💚💛🤎

If you’re new here, welcome. If not, hello again. It’s ya girl 🌴Erika Flowers 🌺 👋🏾 A lot has changed since 2020. That’s kinda the point right? We were never meant to stay the same. We can change our mind, goals, interests, lanes, etc on any given day.

The time I’ve had to pour into Taste of the Tropics has shifted since we had allll the time in the world back in 2020. Since then I have traveled the world, expanded my knowledge of spirits, gained national recognition for my work behind and beyond the bar, hosted and participated in a slew of pop ups, partnered with and represented spirits brands, and have continued to build a full-filling life where I explore everything and anything that I can be. I’ve kept busy to say the least and that is very Caribbean of me 🙂‍↕️

Like plantain, we will get sweeter with time but truly delicious at every stage. I am excited to continue to grow Taste of the Tropics and happy to have you here in this season 💛✨

Reminiscing on our time at “The Corner Store Connect” presented by at 🥰 This event was inspired by the bodegas of NYC and showcased the influence of the African Diaspora. A special delivery of Sorrel was enjoyed by many who joined for mid week adventures powered by during Tales of the Cocktail.

Whether you enjoyed this non-alcoholic Belizean Spiced Hibiscus Tea as is or added a shot of Vatted Dark Rum, we thank you for indulging in a taste of the tropics 🌴 This was fun, nostalgic, and an evening we’ll remember forever.

The joy it brings to do what you love 💕

So thankful for the opportunity to return to the place where I’ve been able to grow and continuously re-envision . made its grand return and so did I with new and improved offerings! Thank you to all who stopped by and supported 🥰

I was able to premiere an idea I’ve been developing called “Tro-picks”. An opportunity for you all to shop items I’ve curated from my travels. I finally brought out the beautiful leather wallets from Oaxaca , Mayan necklaces from Belize , and my favorite Belizean hot sauces ❤️‍🔥 So glad you all were feeling them! Looking forward to continuing to support local makers around the tropics and sharing them in my pop up shop here in New Orleans.

IYKYK Ya girl has been here there and everywhere and maintaining this platform has been difficult at times. I am so thankful that despite me posting day to day, that you all have continue to keep ya girl booked and busy ! 🐝 🍯 It’s a blessing and so are YOU

BIG TINGZ A GWAN! 🍹🍴

It is my pleasure to share with my Taste of the Tropics family, an event that I’ve been dreaming up for a while. An event that showcases rising food and beverage stars and our Caribbean culture!

“One Love” is a 4-course Caribbean dinner and rum tasting curated by ya girl 🙋🏾‍♀️The evening will feature rising stars in the culinary world here in New Orleans that you just NEED to know. There will be snapper ceviche! There will be oxtail empanadas! There will be 🇯🇲 JERK CHICKEN 🤤! There will be tropical ice cream (and it’s dairy free) !…Go ahead and follow , , and to get a taste of what’s to come.
