Genetics are interesting! 😍
Meet one of our most unique ladies on the farm!
This Holstein has a fully black udder — a rare and beautiful twist on classic black‑and‑white genetics. Her coloring comes from the piebald gene, which controls how pigment cells spread during development. Most Holsteins end up with pink‑skinned udders, but every now and then the pattern lands just right and creates a fully black one.
Holsteins may all be black‑and‑white, but no two patterns — or cows — are ever the same. Celebrating the little surprises that make each cow one‑of‑a‑kind!
