One thing that makes Baa-tanicals so special is that the goat milk in our soaps comes from goats we personally raise and milk here at Rector Valley Ranch 🤍

Not powdered goat milk ordered online. Not milk from a supplier I’ve never met. These are our girls.. the goats we care for every day, bottle feed babies from, milk in the early mornings, and love through every season of farm life. And honestly, you might be surprised how uncommon that really is.

There’s just something really meaningful to me about turning fresh milk from our own farm into small-batch soaps made by hand. From the barn… to soap… to your home.

I know there are many wonderful soap makers out there, but I do think there’s something extra special about truly knowing where your ingredients come from and being connected to every step of the process.

This business is built from a whole lot of hard work, love, and goats 🐐🤍

Being a business owner and farmer is such a weird emotional roller coaster sometimes. In the same hour I was excitedly ordering equipment upgrades to help grow my business… then things turned quickly when I lost my sweet Maple during labor and wasn’t able to save her baby either.

It’s hard to explain to people who haven’t lived this life. One minute you’re dreaming and planning and feeling so thankful for growth… and the next you’re sitting in the barn crying over an animal you loved so deeply.

Maple was sweet, beautiful, and such a special part of our farm. Nights like that make the highs feel really high and the lows feel unbelievably low.

Ugh. My heart just hurts.

Springtime brings beautiful blooms and some unwanted blooms.. I’m talking about the intestinal kind 🥴

I feel like I unlocked a new level of parenthood today. We ran 45 head through, and I had two of the best little helpers by my side. These girls are tough, and we had a great system going! 💪🐐

Now I’m looking forward to seeing everyone with shiny coats over the next couple of weeks. Spring on the farm isn’t always glamorous… but it sure is rewarding 🌷

Chai, my spoiled keeper doe from last year, blessed me last night with the sweetest birthday present!

And the gift keeps on giving because Chai’s FF udder is already so impressive at 12 hours 😍

So what am I naming my newest keeper doe? Latte? ☕️
