If you haven’t had the chicken parm at Plum Pt. Bistro 🍅 {Est. 2012} , you’re seriously missing out. It’s one of those dishes I keep thinking about long after dinner is over. My only regret? Not getting the strawberry shortcake for dessert.

I will miss it when I go to Florida for the winter.

Just about two weeks until I head back to Florida, and I’m starting to panic a little! I’m ordering seafood and lobster everywhere I go, trying to get my fill before heading south.

Haddock is at the top of my list because I just can’t find good haddock in Florida! Grouper, on the other hand, is where Florida shines.

The haddock from Providence Oyster Bar East Greenwich is always cooked to perfection.

Take it from me, your Snowbird Bestie, there’s nothing quite like New England seafood!

Midtown Oyster Bar is most definitely one of my favorites in Newport! It’s always my go-to when we have guests in town, especially because of their HUGE selection of oysters.

I want to share something a little personal with you guys.

While I was in Italy, I caught a terrible cold, and it’s taken me a lot longer than normal to recover because I have an autoimmune disease called limited scleroderma, also known as CREST.

The picture of my hands shows something called Raynaud’s disease, which is actually one of the reasons I’m a snowbird. (The other is that my mom lives in Florida, and she battles lupus as well.)

I’ve been trying to find a balance between managing this page, traveling, going out to eat and doing all the things I love, but this past year has been a little harder on me.

So you may see me recycling some of my favorite food and travel finds because I’m just not going to be able to go out or travel quite as much for a while.

I love sharing all the good food with you, and I really appreciate every single one of you who follows along with your Snowbird Bestie. ❤️
