First day of Autumn. I really love fall but not what comes after it. I'm much more a summer girl but crisp mornings and fall colors are a great second best. Plus fall sunsets and stars seem all the more spectacular!
We're greeted with some showers this morning and a high of 65 I think.
We have a new fencing project going on the end of this week. To the right of my picture where the red paneling is, we're having wood paddocks put in and will move our sweep and chute in there. That will give us a better spot to fenceline wean and then use a section for a feedlot when it comes time to finish some steers. Always nice to make areas more user friendly. We always seem to cram so many projects into the fall months.
Anyone else have fun projects going on?

I must apologize for being absent the last day and a half. Being the owner of "the cutest bunny in the entire world" is time consuming. Cuddle sessions, meet and greets, book signings, record labels and movie producers knocking on the door. Really not a moment of peace around here.
I guess I can't actually blame Oliver though it is hard to get work done when he's pesting for attention. The more accurate story is that I escaped farm life yesterday after morning chores and headed to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire for the first time in over 20 years. I was slightly disappointed that I couldn't bring Nicholas the Sheepadoodle along and a couple chickens to help complete the outfit that I didn't actually make time to get dressed in anyway. We did have a fun time with some friends and saw some very unique loosely inspired by the Renaissance costumes. Very unique.
It's a rainy day here today and the ducks are quite happy.

Flower Fridays and a pullet who is as pretty as a feathered flower!
I planted a row of sunflowers against the short side of our outdoor riding arena and they are so much fun! Next season I plan on adding a couple more rows and wrapping part of one of the long sides. That cheerful little yellow puffball sunflower is a Teddy Bear variety. So cheery!
My flower of a pullet is from a Porcelain patterned rooster over one of my Isabel hens. Adding some lavender hens in with a new rooster (this springs rooster flunked his personality test big time). Hoping to keep a lavender base with pattern to get closer to a Porcelain de Uccle coloration. A work in progress! I have 2 Porcelain project pens to work with next year with genetics from 4 separate lines.

Mornings. Somedays I'm tired. Tired in my body. Tired in my mind and soul. It's hard to stay so weary when this is the beauty that you are greeted with all day long. The blessings are all around, sometimes you just need to lift your eyes up to see them. Enjoy the little things in life today!

Today was hilarious 🤣🤷‍♀️🫠

I spent the afternoon with my friends over at Longhorns & Lavender Farm - and the antics that Becky and I found ourselves involved in were outrageous - but very worth it! 🤣🤣

🐔 This was TAKE ONE because our bougie models weren't super happy about our wig choices 😒🙄 but with some simple modifications we can really make it work! 🤣🫠🤷‍♀️😂💀

Stay turned - this is only the beginning of our amazing fall antics over at the farm!
