One tree helped shape an entire town 🌳

New Ulm’s Heritage Tree honors the venerable oak tree surveyors used as a reference point when plotting out New Ulm in 1854.

Each symbol on the sculpture represents a different aspect of life and history in New Ulm — making it a small but meaningful stop while exploring downtown.

One of Minnesota’s most iconic skyline landmarks has deep New Ulm roots 🍺

The historic Grain Belt sign overlooking downtown Minneapolis has been lighting up the skyline for more than 80 years — and today, it continues to shine thanks to New Ulm’s own August Schell Brewing Company.

From restoration efforts to ongoing upkeep, Schell’s continues helping preserve this piece of Minnesota history for future generations.

A New Ulm tradition more than 110 years in the making 🍿

Tomorrow marks the first Popcorn Wagon opening of the season — one of only 10 days each year the historic wagon appears downtown.

Originally purchased in 1914 by Meyers Jorgenson, the same popcorn wagon has been part of New Ulm community life for generations, serving fresh popcorn during festivals, parades, downtown events, and summer evenings for more than a century.

From Camp Dodge farewell parades to Oktoberfest crowds, this little red wagon has seen a lot of New Ulm history.

And yes — it still smells amazing 🍿👀
