Fuzzy Crew Farm and Rabbitry

When you’re up every morning before the sun you get to see this.

Pretty. Like a painting.

This was a laugh I needed today.

This girl lost two of her babies, to a puddle of all things, but she has seven strong ones still. It’s been rough around here. We are scrambling before winter.

But the chickens are still making me laugh and love this life every day. I miss the farm when I’m at work. But I work for my farm. Because I love my animals.

I have been very absent on the page lately. I started a full time job.

But what has me down more lately is the one year anniversary of our dogs passing. I’ve been crying a lot more and just wish he was here. I miss him so much. He died protecting what was his but I miss him every day.

It’s just hard to get on here and be happy. When I hurt so much.

But I did notice this little heart in one of our chicken coops. I love it. I need more love in my life right now.

Corn is looking good. I think. It’s our first year really growing corn.

When do I harvest it? 😅 The children, and I, are impatient.

These pictures don’t do this flower justice. The front is a deep red and the back is just beautiful. I wish I could preserve how it actually looks. It’s the only one that grew of this color.

I’m hoping to harvest the seeds and get a pretty color next year.

This guy is trying to figure out how to get past the angry mommas in The Love Shack.

He sees the food. But to get to it he has to pass by two very angry mothers. You can see their babies in the back.

And even though this guy has a crossbeak his is living his best life. He can eat and drink on his own. Though eating would be easier if I could catch him and trim his beak. 😅

With winter coming and both me and the husband working it has been busy around here. I’m hoping when winter is here things will calm down. But my anxiety has been bad. So I’ve had to take a step back from the page. I’m trying to find more time to post and engage but we have a lot of in progress projects here that feel like they’ll never get finished. There just isn’t enough time.

The animals are the only things that keep me sane. I love their fuzzy/ fluffy butts and wouldn’t trade them for the world.

Even the ones like this guy. Whose mom thought he needed one ear. Rabbit people, can chewing ears be genetic? Or is it a stress response only? I have one doe that has done it with two litters.

Happy Wednesday! Today is going to be a good day.

We have a new friend here on the farm. Turkeys! The husbands idea. He’s so excited about them. We have some eggs in the incubator and this little friend as well.

I’m ready for all the advice about turkeys. Are they just like chickens? Or more like geese? Should I let them free range? I have so many questions. 😂😅
