Paying Farms & Artists Through Each Bag Superlost Coffee Roasters is the vision of co-founders Craig Deahl and David Roa. Cheers!

We believe in sourcing coffee exclusively from farms we have visited ourselves. The dirty truth behind the coffee industry is that the vast majority of coffee is grown in third world countries and most coffee companies have no involvement in the growing process. We want to change all of that and make sure to have an intimate connection with the farms we buy from and be involved in each step of the

grow. You'll notice that each Superlost Coffee batch has a different name and artwork. We partner with artists who create bag art based on how they interpret the name and taste of the roast. We believe in giving each artist complete creative freedom to design whatever they want. Part of the proceeds from the sales of each batch will be given to the farm region and artist associated. Each roast is unique and each bag is limited edition and numbered accordingly. Once a batch is sold out the bag art will never go into rotation again. We hope you love our coffee, it's full of passion and love, which we believe, makes the best cup around.

Superlost is doing a takeover of Drip this Saturday July 19 at the SoHo location.

Serving two coffees from Leo Henao, former 2020 Cup of Excellence Champion, owner and operator of Finca El Jardin - a fully washed Geisha served on pour over and espresso as well as a washed process SL-28 on pour over. Exported by the wonderful and talented Imported through .coffee.inc

Also featuring our current New Light : a juicy washed Kenyan from Kayu Coffee Factory in Murang’a composed of 1,100+ farmers strong, growing on rich volcanic soil. Expect crisp lemonade, sweet tea, and light brown sugar. Bright, clean, and refreshing.

Leonardo Henao began working in coffee at a young age, and his obsession with quality earned him Colombia’s highest honor: Champion of the Cup of Excellence in 2020.

But success didn’t shield him from the instability in the region, only two years later, he was forced to sell his farm for safety. Still, his connection to coffee never broke. In 2024, he returned with a new chapter: Finca El Jardín, a 15 hectare farm where Leonardo is back doing what he does best, crafting remarkable coffees and mentoring others to do the same.

September Coffee of The Month out now.

Unique for her region, coffee on Maria Soraia’s farm is picked by hand, not by a harvester. In this and every other way, Soraia is a careful producer, following up on everything that happens on her farm, from crop management to processing and employee development.

Her son Augusto works with her. Together they have brought in awards from Cup of Excellence, the Minas Gerais State Coffee Quality Awards, Cerrado Mineiro Region Coffee Awards and Florada Contest – the last one focused on women producers. Maria is very excited about having her coffee in the USA for the first time and is already eagerly looking forward to the next harvest.

New month, new coffee!

For this coffee the cherries are collected in the ripest stage when there is a ripe pink color (22 Brix degrees), the same reason the variety is called Pink Bourbon.

Cherries were collected and put into GrainPro Bags to start the 13 hour night time trip from Huila to Quindio, where the 1959 fermentation and drying facility is located. Traveling during the night helps to control the temperature in the first stage of the fermentation that takes place in the truck.

Once arrived in Quindio and after a full 24 hr. fermentation, they pulp the coffee before putting it into closed tanks for another 24hr anaerobic fermentation, after which they open the tank, wash the coffee, rinse it, and return it once more into a dry, closed tank for the third and final 24 hr. Fermentation. Then the coffee is washed and rinsed a second time before laying it onto raised drying beds.

The end step of this process is resting the coffee, in a long, slow, shade-drying process that takes on average 40 days. All this results in the stunning coffee Cafe 1959 calls, Panela Sticky.
