One of my favorite parts about wine is the people behind the bottle 🍷
The Jasci family has been making wine in Abruzzo since 1978, in one of the prettiest parts of Italy... mountains on one side, the Adriatic Sea on the other, and vineyards rolling right through the middle.
Sebastiano Jasci was making organic wine long before it was the cool thing to do. He was one of the early pioneers of organic farming in Italy, and today his sons, Ludovico and Nicola, are carrying on the family tradition. Although honestly, every time I visit, I feel like I meet another Jasci family member somewhere along the way 😆
Their Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is exactly the kind of bottle I love finding for people. Made from 100% Montepulciano grapes and aged six months in oak, it’s rich, smooth, full-bodied, and still incredibly easy to drink.
This is the kind of wine I’d open for pizza night without even thinking twice. Give me a mushroom pizza, a glass of Jasci Montepulciano, and I’m happy.
The first time I tasted it, I remember saying, “Wow… molto buono!” 🇮🇹🍕
