And it’s that time of the year! SCIURILLI NAPULETANI. Napoli Style Fried Zucchini Flowers. This pic is from a year ago today. This week I need to go to Delicious orchards in Colts Neck which is my local source. People are starting to pick them in their home gardens too my preferred way is sentimental. The way my mom and grandmother made them. Dipped in a batter then fried. Growing up the stuffed style seemed non existent. Then one day….BOOM..every Italian restaurant was offering ricotta and mozzarella stuffed battered zucchini flowers. And homecooks started too. They are delicious anyway you make them. My usual style though is just dipping the flower in the batter and frying until golden. Definitely one of Summer’s most anticipated seasonal dishes for me!!
