Sometimes our expectations get in the way of our happiness.
Especially when we don’t communicate what they are to the people in our lives.
Sometimes our expectations blind us in not seeing the prize sitting in front of us because it wasn’t packaged how we thought it would be.
Try appreciation, and seeing what is truly there in front of us.

Ice cream together.
If you love ice cream, you should visit . It is hot outside and they are open until 10 pm tonight, trust me you weren’t regret it. You might however not be able to eat any other ice cream ever.

The mister usually has to bring it home after work. I have two favorites , chocolate, and vanilla. The mister is salted caramel, and a strawberry. The kid, his favorite is crumbled cookies and cream.

It’s almost as if half of summer is gone, I had plans. Plans I didn’t follow through on because I had rather stayed in bed.

August, august makes you think that summer is nearing its end. The fomo did bubble up, but I washed it down with a bit of cold lemonade. I enjoyed myself and my lazy summer. I turned 40 and the best is yet to come.

I didn’t “do anything” for the gram and the things that I did do, well I had rather keep it to myself. You know that sweet spot of having something delicious and enjoying it all by yourself.

Welcome in August, I bet it will bring with it great pleasure. Welcome in love, welcome in health, welcome in all the wonderful and delicious things, because it’s August.

I had a class while I was at interior design school that the requirement was to go to specific locations and sketch. I hated it, especially when it was cold outside, I failed 😞 that class. It was essential to my degree so I took it again in the spring and I passed, I really didn’t hate it any less but I did what I had to do.

How many years later, I bought a journal just for the bee on the front, and realized it had space for me to sketch. Why put it to waste.

In an era where everything is digital and I could have easily took a picture, I somehow notice more my environment as I sketched. It was pleasurable, it felt good. Apart from the mini tripod in my bag, I’m now adding by this sketch journal and pencil, hopefully by the end of this I regain my sketching abilities, it’s been 15 years.
