Introducing the Tequila Dulce de Leche Carajillo Affogato with LALO Tequila ☕️🍨

This creamy, coffee-forward fall cocktail brings together LALO Tequila Blanco, espresso, Spanish vanilla liqueur and dulce de leche ice cream for a rich little after-dinner moment.
I first discovered the Carajillo in Mexico City about ten years ago, and it’s been one of my favorite cocktails ever since. LALO’s bright agave and citrus notes balance the richness of the espresso, vanilla and dulce de leche perfectly.

Tequila Dulce de Leche Carajillo Affogato
Ingredients
1 oz LALO Tequila Blanco
1 oz Spanish vanilla liqueur
1 oz freshly brewed espresso
2 scoops dulce de leche ice cream

Method
Add LALO Tequila Blanco, Spanish vanilla liqueur and espresso to a shaker with ice. Shake until chilled and frothy, then strain over two scoops of dulce de leche ice cream.
Finish with freshly grated cinnamon and an orange twist.

Three cities, countless cocktails, and a new NYC ice cream shop squeezed in after I got home. September took me through Bangkok, Guangzhou, and Singapore, with very good meals and bars along the way. 🍸🍦

We have a winner! 🍸✨ Huge congratulations to Hannah, the winner of the $5,000 Proper Cocktail Parlour Giveaway! +

Hannah’s entry immediately stood out to me. She’s transforming her grandparents’ former home into a moody, maximalist cocktail lounge inspired by old speakeasies, Victorian details, vintage finds, and her family’s history of gathering and entertaining in the space.

After hearing her vision, these are my top three design recommendations for bringing it to life:

🕯️ Low, atmospheric lighting, including vintage-inspired fixtures and that perfect slightly-shabby chandelier moment

🍸 Making her existing vintage bar the anchor of the room, with a functional cocktail station, beautiful glassware, and plenty of within reach

🖼️ Layered rugs, vintage art, funky photographs, and unexpected pieces that make the room feel collected instead of overly designed

My favorite part is that Hannah already has so many incredible pieces to build around, from her vintage bar to a black panther table and red hand chair. This space should feel a little weird, a little glamorous, very personal, and completely unforgettable.
Congratulations, Hannah! I cannot wait to see this Proper Cocktail Parlour come to life. 🥂

Pink Margarita Time! 💗🍹 + Before we fully fall into autumn, I’m squeezing in one last pop of color with this vibrant Dragon Fruit Margarita. Made with Agalima | Organic Cocktail Mix Margarita Mix, it’s bright, refreshing, and incredibly easy to shake up.

Dragon Fruit Margarita🍹🐉💕

Ingredients:
3 oz Agalima Organic Margarita Mix
2 oz Tequila
1 oz Dragon Fruit Purée

Method:
Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake, strain over fresh ice, and garnish with Dried Lime and Fresh Lime.
