I studied film at the prestigous NYU. I shouldn't have a problem telling stories. But for some reason, my personal stories are the hardest to tell.

There’s a deep, embedded reason I wanted to create Bar Nun, an alcohol-free NYC community. And I’ve been hesitant to tell my story because of fear of being judged, coming across as unprofessional or too personal to investors, etc., and having the brand tied to me when it’s really about keeping the focus on the community.

And yet, I’m constantly asked “Why Bar Nun?”

That’s why I’m excited to have just signed up for the and challenge to learn the best way to tell my story to better connect with all of you and learn how I can build the best third place to serve you.

Some think I’m crazy, as a first time entrepreneur without industry experience. But I believe I’m the right person and can do this. And thank you to all those that have been supportive. This has been quite an exciting and challenging journey, I’m definitely learning every day.

Treating myself with a refreshing kompot and brunch at Pierogi Boys 🥟🌈 in Ridgewood, Queens.

My drink had its own basket!? Cute touch to the experience.

My Polish aunt tells me it is a chilled brew of fruits - perfectly light and summery, today's drink features rosehip, red currant, and strawberry.

Lovely to see a new non-alc and vegetarian selection from my last visit.

🎉 Friday's soberversary party at Soft Bar + Cafe with SASS had 17 out of 22 sign ups attend, and six guests were repeats from past events!

🫂 While half came alone and half invited a friend, we still saw people exchanging numbers and connecting with new folks by the end of the night.

🕺💃🏽 Some even broke out of their shells and joined me on the dance floor.

🕙 10 stayed past close, chatting on the sidewalk then taking the train or walking home together.
