🍞 Easy Homemade Bread Pudding Recipe
🛒 Ingredients
6 cups bread, cut into small cubes
2 cups milk
3 large eggs
¾ cup sugar
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup raisins (optional)
¼ cup chopped nuts (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare the bread
Cut the bread into small cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl. Slightly stale bread works best.
2. Make the custard
In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, melted butter, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
3. Combine
Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes. Gently mix and let the bread soak for 10–15 minutes.
4. Add extras
Fold in raisins or chopped nuts if desired.
5. Prepare the baking dish
Grease a baking dish with a little butter and pour in the soaked bread mixture. Spread it evenly.
6. Bake
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Bake for approximately 40–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
7. Cool & serve
Let the bread pudding cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy it warm on its own or with caramel sauce, powdered sugar, ice cream, or whipped cream. 🍮
⭐ Tips for the Best Bread Pudding
Use day-old or slightly stale bread for better texture.
Don't skip the soaking time—the bread needs to absorb the custard.
For a richer pudding, replace ½ cup of milk with heavy cream.
Add chocolate chips, dates, coconut, or nuts for different flavors.
