Meet the Chia Chicks! Mary and Misty met while working for a large corporate immigration firm in the New York City area. The two quickly became friends and soon discovered that their paths had crossed for a reason other than doing paralegal work together! The Chia Chicks have a common interest in health and nutrition. They understood that there was a demand for more snack options in a market where
so many are affected by specific dietary allergies and restrictions. It was then that they decided to begin baking all natural cookies together! The Chia Chicks have created delicious and nutritious Chocolate Chia’p Cookies made from organic, high quality ingredients that pack a healthy punch and deliver a plethora of benefits from the chia seed. The Chia Chicks currently have two main types of cookies each formulated to meet specific dietary needs of our customers: Gluten Free – Vegan Coconut, Gluten Free – Vegan (Allergy Conscious) are available! We are very excited about entering "The Next Big Food Thing" contest and for the potential opportunity to partner with FreshDirect. The main reason we decided to create our fabulous Chia'p Cookies, is because we wholeheartedly feel that there is a need for allergy conscious snacks that are made from high quality ingredients and taste good too. While we recognize gluten free and other allergy conscious items are available, we do not feel that they are actually good for you. The gluten free products currently on the market are made with loads of granulated refined sugars, high fructose corn syrup, and they are rarely are made from whole grains. In most cases they are generally processed to the point where they are very glycemic. In addition to entering the contest, and hoping to get the opportunity to partner with FreshDirect, we are currently focused on getting our products into local health food and in specialty item stores in the New York City area. Further, we would like to grow our business via the internet and ship to customers throughout the United States. Our target market is to grocery stores, specialty health stores, schools, medical facilities, as well as fitness clubs. We are very confident in our cookies and with the outstanding health benefits they possess. We plan to corner the market in these areas where healthy and restricted diet snack choices are so scarce.
