Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper Whiskey Gummies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Cherry Dr. Pepper
- 1 cup vanilla-flavored whiskey
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 4 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder
- 1 teaspoon cherry extract (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Cooking spray or silicone gummy molds
Directions:
1. Begin by preparing your gummy molds. If you are using silicone molds, lightly spray them with cooking spray to ensure easy removal of the gummies later. If you don't have cooking spray, use a paper towel to rub a small amount of oil inside the molds to prevent sticking.
2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the cold water and unflavored gelatin powder. Stir gently with a whisk or spoon until the gelatin is fully dissolved and there are no lumps. This process may take a minute or two, so be patient and ensure that the mixture is smooth.
3. Once the gelatin is completely dissolved, add the Cherry Dr. Pepper and vanilla-flavored whiskey to the bowl. Stir the mixture thoroughly to combine all the ingredients evenly, ensuring that the flavors are well incorporated.
4. Next, add the granulated sugar to the mixture. Stir continuously until the sugar is fully dissolved. This may take a few minutes, so continue stirring until you achieve a smooth texture without any grainy sugar remaining.
5. If you choose to enhance the flavor, add the cherry extract and vanilla extract to the mixture. Stir well to ensure that the extracts are evenly distributed throughout the gummy mixture.
6. Carefully pour the gummy mixture into the prepared molds. You can use a small measuring cup or a pipette for more precise pouring, ensuring that each mold is filled evenly to avoid any overflow.
7. Once all the molds are filled with the gummy mixture, place them in the refrigerator. Allow the gummies to set for at least 4 hours, or until they are firm to the touch. This chilling time is essential for the gelatin to properly set.
8. After the gummies have set, remove them from the refrigerator. Carefully pop each gummy out of the mold. If you encounter any resistance, gently flex the mold to help release the gummies without damaging their shape.
9. Store the finished Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper Whiskey Gummies in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They can be kept for up to two weeks, allowing you to enjoy these delightful treats over time.
