Sometimes people ask us, “Why do y’all bust your butts making all of this stuff?”
Why the late nights making goat milk soap? Why render tallow, whip it, jar it, and label it? Why make freshies, make home décor, cook batch after batch of jams and jellies, package orders, load up the trailer, set up at vendor events, tear it all back down… and then wake up and do it all over again?
Because Blackberry Dawns Farm is so much more than a business to us. It’s a dream we are building with our own two hands. ❤️
We started with chickens. Just chickens. And somewhere along the way, that little beginning turned into a much bigger dream.
We added goats. We learned. We made mistakes. We tried again. We built fences, fixed things that broke, cared for animals, added new ideas, and kept imagining what this little farm could become.
And we’re still growing.
Every bar of goat milk soap you buy.
Every jar of whipped tallow.
Every freshie hanging from your rearview mirror.
Every piece of home décor.
Every jar of jelly or jam you take home…
It all goes right back into this farm.
It helps buy feed. It helps build fences and shelters. It helps us care for our animals. It helps us improve what we already have and save for what we hope to add next.
Little by little, vendor event by vendor event, product by product, you are helping us build the farm we once only talked about.
There are definitely days when we are exhausted. Days when the kitchen is a disaster, the labels won’t cooperate, something on the farm needs fixing, and we’re wondering why we decided we needed one more thing on our plate. 😂
But then we look around.
We see how far we’ve come from those first chickens.
And we remember why.
We aren’t trying to become some huge company. We are trying to build something meaningful. Something our family can be proud of. A farm that continues to grow, provides for itself, and gives us the opportunity to make things with our own hands and share them with all of you.
So when you stop by our booth and spend $7 on a bar of soap or grab a freshie, a jar of jelly, or one of our handmade products, please know something…
To us, it isn’t “just a sale.”
You’re putting another little piece into the dream that is Blackberry Dawns Farm. 🐐🐓🌾
From a few chickens… to everything you see today… and Lord willing, we’re just getting started. ❤️
