I already love American Redbud trees, but this is a reason to love them even more. This morning, I was treated to observing this migrating immature male Orchard Oriole while he had his breakfast. He spent a good 20 minutes moving from tiny blossom to tiny blossom as he sipped nectar. So beautiful! I had no idea they liked redbud nectar. This tree was purchased at planted by 5 years ago.

Tonight’s bountiful harvest! I will freezing green beans and zucchini tomorrow.
What are you favorite things to do with hot peppers and sweet peppers? I don’t have tomatoes for salsa yet, so I need other ideas!

Momma mallard’s ducklings just fledged their nest. It is a perilous venture with large mouth bass and snapping turtles waiting in the water. She encourages their jump then works to get them out of the water and to the safety of the shore as quickly as possible.
These are wild ducks that choose to make our lake their home.

Sunflower photos! We have had a LOT of requests for photos with the sunflowers. I have decided to open up our farm today (Monday, July 8, 2024) as a test run. We suggest a 10/car cash donation toward future plantings.
Things to know:
We are a small family farm and live here. We ask that you please respect our property, not pick flowers or damage them, and only stay in designated areas. Do not enter any buildings. If you disrespect or damage our property, you will be asked to leave.
NO PETS allowed!
You enter our farm at your own risk. We are not responsible for injuries, although we would not expect any.
Sunflowers attract bees, again enter at your own risk.
There are cats, chickens, wild ducks, and Canada Geese on the farm…hence, there is also p**p. Watch where you step! It may be muddy due to rain.
The “Country Store” is not open.
Enter on gravel driveway. Park in front of store or along gravel loop of cream pole building. Field closes at 8:30pm.
