Bread lovers, I promise I haven’t forgotten about you 😭💛

I’ve had SO many people reaching out asking when I’ll have bread at Shelly’s, if I have anything on hand, or when they can place an order — and I absolutely HATE having to tell you no. 😭

So first, I’m sorry. And second…please bear with me for just a couple more weeks. 🫶🏻

We are officially down to the final 2.5 weeks of Home Sweet Home Daycare 💔 and right now, my biggest focus has to be soaking up these last days with my kiddos while also somehow packing up 8+ years of daycare, selling things, cleaning things out and getting everything ready for this chapter to close.

With daycare still open, I also just don’t have the flexibility during the day to prep dough like I normally would — and there simply aren’t enough hours in the day right now. 😅

BUT I PROMISE…THIS IS TEMPORARY.

After September 4th, WATCH OUT. 🤩🍞

Custom orders will be much more readily available.
Shelly’s Sweets will be stocked regularly.
And I have some NEW goodies I cannot wait to start working on. 👀🤤

I promise I want to bake for you. I promise it kills me every time I have to say “I can’t this week.” And I promise there is going to be SO. MUCH. BREAD. coming your way very soon. 😂💛

Just bear with me for these last 2.5 weeks while I soak up every last minute with these kids — because as excited as I am for what’s next, my heart is definitely not ready to say goodbye to them. 💔

Thank you for being patient with me, for continuing to ask for my bread, and most of all for being so dang excited for Sweet, Sweet Sourdough.

September is going to be GOOD. 🥹🍞💛

SHELLSBURG BREAD LOVERS 🫶🏻

Our usual Wednesday night looks a little different these days. 🥹💛

Instead of rushing around getting ready for market tonight, we had an early dinner and took the pups to one of our favorite spots for a walk & swim. 🐾

And yes… I definitely missed market and all of you tonight 😭 but I have to admit, it’s been nice slowing down just a little and soaking in these last few weeks before life changes in a BIG way. 💛

BUUUUT… I’m not leaving my Shellsburg bread lovers hanging! 🤩🥖

I’ll be making a Shellsburg bread delivery early next week!

If you’re wanting loaves, bagels or some other yummy goodies, get those orders in! 🫶🏻

Ugh, not the message I wanted to be sharing this morning 😭💛 but I know it’s the right decision.

I have officially made the decision that I am done with the Midweek Market for this summer. 😭

It was NOT an easy decision, but I know it’s what I need to do so I can focus on these last 4 weeks of daycare. 💛

I’m going to miss all of your smiling faces, the laughs, and getting to chat with everyone each Wednesday! But PLEASE don’t let my absence stop you from checking out the Midweek Market!!

This week should be an especially great one with American Legion Night! 🇺🇸 Wear your red, white & blue and go support all of those amazing vendors!

Now — does this mean I’m giving up baking for the next 4 weeks?!

ABSOLUTELY NOT. 🤣🥖

I’ll definitely be cutting back a little bit, but I’ll still be baking!

And come September… WATCH OUT. 👀🤣

It’s full steam ahead for Sweet, Sweet Sourdough, and I already have a few new things up my sleeve that I cannot WAIT to share with you! 💛

✨ Today’s behind-the-scenes look! ✨

Sourdough is such a wonderful, crazy thing. 🤩

Daycare was a little wild today, so I wasn’t able to prep dough until 1:00 PM. 😅

For reference, I usually mix dough around 9:30–10:00 AM so I can start baking around 5:00 PM.

So today I decided to experiment!

For those of you who don’t know, the warmer sourdough stays, the faster it proofs. Instead of leaving it in my 68° house with a warming mat, I figured I’d let Mother Nature help and put it out in the garage. ☀️

I was hoping it’d be ready to bake by at least 7:00 PM…

Well guess what?! 🤩

It’s only 5:30 PM and these babies are ready for the oven!

I absolutely love that sourdough is always teaching me something new. 💛

Now I’m off to bake some custom orders! 🥖✨

😅 Well… tonight didn’t quite go as planned.

I had every intention of baking tonight, but my body had other plans. 😭

I’m currently down for the count with one of the worst migraines I’ve had in quite a while, so this is my view for the rest of the evening until it’s an acceptable time to go to bed and not be awake at 4 AM. 🥴

🧊 Headache hat
🐶 Puppy cuddles (Cooper was apparently too cool for the picture 🤣)
💧 And lots of wata

First, I owe a huge apology to those waiting on custom orders. 💛 It absolutely wasn’t my plan to push them back, and I hate doing it. I promise those will be the very first thing I bake next week before market prep!

Now… about the Midweek Market.

As many of you know, I only have 5 more weeks of daycare left. 🥹💛 It’s exciting, emotional, and honestly… a little chaotic.

For these last few weeks, my daycare kiddos have to be my first priority. That means there may be weeks where:
✨ I have limited inventory.
✨ The market becomes a custom order pickup with just a few extra goodies.
✨ Or I may have to miss a market altogether.

I’ll always keep you updated, so don’t worry. 💛
