Here is an article on our good friends at Atkinson Candy. It all comes down to getting rid of the 80+ year old sugar subsidies. This is also why Oreo moved to Mexico and many candy companies are forced to move their plants out of the country. We need to get rid of the large government subsides to keep confectionery jobs in the US.
