**I haven't posted much lately. What with the holidays and all. But here's one I meant to post a while back. There are a few actually. So more to come.**
We had an issue with our pellet stove just a little bit before Christmas. Lost heat for 3.5 days while we waited to get the part we needed. Fortunately it wasn't terribly cold but this was us for a few days. All the animals, human and otherwise, snuggled up on the couch together under a pile of blankets. We have some space heaters. Those helped. Though they are huge consumers of electricity. So in the interest of not running the generator constantly, we still used them sparingly. Lesson learned though. I am going to order a few spare parts for the stove to keep on hand. It has always worked so consistently that I hadn't even thought about it.
So word to the wise, if you heat your home with a stove, pellet or wood, order some spare parts and keep them somewhere handy. You probably won't need them any time soon but losing heat in the middle of December isn't the greatest. Particularly when you're up at 45°N.
New auger is working just fine now. House is cozy and toasty.
