A new hydration play is blurring the line between juice drink and sports drink. 🥤

BevNET’s latest review looks at JOUS Key Lime Hydrating Fruit Drink, a 45% juice beverage with added magnesium and sea salt, 7 grams of sugar and 50 calories per 12 oz. can. The product earns points for its lime-forward flavor, low-calorie profile and polished packaging, but questions remain around front-panel clarity and how the brand communicates its no-added-sugar positioning. 🍋

A Texas federal judge has cleared three former Nutrabolt executives to remain in their new roles at Recess — with limits. ⚖️🥤

The ruling rejects Nutrabolt’s bid for a broader injunction after the C4 and Bloom maker alleged the former employees violated non-compete and non-solicitation agreements and misused trade secrets. Judge Keith Ellison found Recess’ relaxation beverages do not make it a direct competitor to Nutrabolt’s energy drink and workout supplement business, while noting safeguards around confidential information.

Little Saints is nearing year five with $28 million in lifetime revenue — and a non-alc playbook that runs counter to the category’s rush into retail. 🍄

Founded by Megan Klein in 2021, the functional mushroom-powered NA spirits and RTD cocktail brand says retail is up 50% YoY while DTC revenue hit $11 million last year, with repeat purchase rates above 40%. Now, with a term sheet for $3 million of a planned $6 million Series A, Little Saints is preparing to build out wholesale after gaining traction at Sprouts, Whole Foods and select DSD markets. The brand’s next chapter includes new zero-sugar spritz SKUs and a broader bet on cocktail consumers seeking flavor, function and no hangover. 🥂📈
