Hello friends. Things have been rough here in Chelbie’s Kitchen. My great grandmother passed away last week. Though we knew it was coming it still doesn’t make it easy. She spent her whole life dedicated to serving God and others. As a pastors wife for 62 beautiful years she spent countless hours praying, preaching, worshiping and of course throwing those famous potlucks full of good food and fellowship. Saturday we get to have one last church service with her as we say goodbye and hard as it may be we will all be smiling knowing she is with the love of her life again holding hands and celebrating with Jesus. Following we are doing a little dinner because it’s not a Nano celebration without a meal together. I have the honors of putting together the dinner. I don’t handle grief well. I have to have time to process. I do however have the gift of servitude just like she did. My way of honoring her is by using that gift to give the woman who spent her whole life serving others a last chance at serving her in return. When God gives you a gift it’s important to use it. So here I am using it. I with the help of my brother made 5 different flavors of sandwich buns today. Each one was made with love by hand with care. They represent those who will be there with us to laugh and cry. Though funerals are the kind of things I “like” to cater I can’t help but be grateful to be able to do this for her. I know she is proud of me and is helping give me the strength physically to get through it. With my health sometimes it’s difficult to do so much work. But for Nano, I’ll do it a million times over. Keep my family in your thoughts as we enter a difficult weekend. Next week once I process I will post Thanksgiving preorders!
Thank you for your patience.
