This right here is what responsible breeding looks like.
Too many people hide behind hatching egg disclaimers and treat the transaction as complete once the package leaves the post office. The reality is that our responsibility as breeders goes beyond collecting payment. Our job is to preserve and improve genetics, expand access to quality stock, and help others succeed with the lines we've worked so hard to build.

The hardest part to understand is exactly what they mentioned. Two shipments sent the same day, from the same pens, sometimes even from the same hen, can produce completely different results. One customer fills a brooder while another sees little to no development. That's the nature of hatching eggs, but it doesn't change the fact that customer service matters.

Huge respect for making it right. The poultry community needs more breeders who view customers as future stewards of their bloodlines rather than just another sale.

Just finished building Lulu & Lemon's new backyard pen! 🐐
They've now got a 60' x 20' space packed with foliage, brush, and plenty of vegetation to browse. Fresh grass, leaves, weeds. You name it.
Naturally, with all that available, they'd still rather chew on my arm.

We're looking forward to watching these two enjoy their new space and help keep some of the overgrowth under control here at Copper Creek Poultry.

Hatching a batch of Silverudd shipped eggs today courtesy of Almost Something Like A Tiny Farm. These hot summer temps caused some delayed hatching but thankfully they started emerging at the end of day 21.
