Today, as our nation celebrates 250 years of independence, families and friends across America are gathering to enjoy parades, picnics, fireworks, and the simple joy of being together. It's a day to celebrate the freedoms we cherish and to give thanks for the many blessings we share.
For people of faith, patriotism is about more than flying the flag or singing our national anthem. It's about loving our country enough to help it grow into its highest ideals.
We honor America not only through celebration, but through kindness, compassion, service, and by caring for one another. Every act of goodness helps strengthen the fabric of our nation.
As the fireworks light up the sky tonight, may our hearts be filled with gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy, appreciation for those who have sacrificed to protect them, and a renewed commitment to building an even brighter future for all.
