Miss milkweed in her final form. Asclepias syriaca. Originally thought native to gardens in syria, actually native to Eastern North America.
Seeds attached to the silkiest fuzz youve ever felt to carry them through the air to their next home. The flowers in June - July look and smell amazing. And of course miss monarch, who depends on milkweed to survive and reproduce, in her second to final form in the last pic 🐛🦋

"Wild cucumber"! Echinocystis lobata. Im very excited to have this native annual vine growing on my trellises this spring. Very pretty star shaped leaves, fragrant flowers in early August, and fun little spikey seed pods come fall. Misleading common name for this non-edible plant.
