What’s Cookin’

It’s all in the details, so I’ve been told.

Well, this one isn’t exactly a detail, and most people never see this part.

They see the finished dessert, but not the pieces that come before it.

This is a fresh baked graham cracker slab cooling on my counter.

Soon it’ll become crumb for another recipe.

Sometimes for magic bars.
Sometimes for a cheesecake crust.
Sometimes it gets cut into graham crackers and enjoyed exactly as it is.

One recipe can become so many different things.

And honestly, that’s one of the things I enjoy most about baking from scratch.

Some of the best parts happen behind the scenes.

And yes, I absolutely sneak a piece while it’s still warm 🤍

Why This Matters

The table is set.

Dinner is almost ready, and in a few minutes people will start finding their seats.

Right now it’s quiet.

But what matters most to me is what happens after everyone sits down.

The conversation. The laughter. The stories being shared and plates being passed around the table.

Not one worry about whether something is safe to eat.

Nobody feeling separate from everyone else.

Just good food, shared together.

And honestly, that’s always been the goal.

Because the goal was never just gluten free.

Gluten free is the vessel, but togetherness is the destination.

What’s Cookin’

Dinner with friends and so much good food!

I’ll admit, I picked up some corn tortillas from the store because, let’s face it, they’re convenient. But I just couldn’t help myself—I had to make some fresh ones too.

Homemade is a completely different experience. They’re soft, warm, flavorful, and somehow make the whole meal feel a little extra special.

So yesterday afternoon looked like masa, humidity, a tortilla press, humidity, a hot skillet, humidity, and finally some delicious fresh tortillas.

Absolutely worth it. Even with the humidity 🤣

Sometimes the simple things really are the best things on the table.

Good friends, good food, and great memories 🤍

Why This Matters

I’ve never wanted classes or orders to feel one-size-fits-all.

Some people want a date night.
Some want time with family or friends.
Some are celebrating something special.
And some simply want to learn how to make good gluten free food.

That’s why I like keeping things flexible and personal when I can.

Different schedules, different comfort levels, different experiences — and honestly, I think that’s what makes it meaningful.

For me, it was never just about teaching someone to make pasta or providing something gluten free to eat.

It’s about creating opportunities to gather, connect, learn something new, and spend time around a table together.

Food has a way of fitting into some of life’s best moments, and I love being able to create experiences around that 🍽️

Ever have one of those moments that remind you why you do what you do?

I had one this weekend.

A few months ago, a little girl was diagnosed with celiac.

This weekend, she and her family drove over an hour and a half to spend the evening with me learning how to make gluten free pasta from scratch.

Going into the class, I only knew a little bit of their story—mainly that the entire family had gone gluten free to support her and that her birthday was coming up soon.

Somewhere between making pasta, gathering around the table, and talking about life with celiac, what started as a cooking class turned into a really special evening.

What I’ll remember most, though, isn’t the food.

It was watching a family enjoy a meal together that they said they wouldn’t have known was gluten free if they hadn’t been told. Fresh baked bread, fresh pasta, and an array of desserts—all enjoyed around one table.

It was hearing an excited big sister proclaim, “We should laminate this recipe!”

It was watching a sweet seven-year-old decorate sugar cookies for each of us.

It was Grandma asking for the bread recipe.

It was Mom discovering that the cheesecake I made happened to be her favorite kind.

It was Dad telling me he didn’t know what to expect coming into the class and that the experience exceeded his expectations.

They may have left with full bellies and a yummy recipe, but I was left with a full heart.

Thank you for trusting me to be part of your family’s gluten free journey.

What’s Cookin’

Artisan bread is one of my favorites to make when I want bread.

It’s so versatile. Sometimes I make a smaller round for a bread bowl with soup. Sometimes it becomes a sandwich. And there’s always at least one slice with butter while it’s still warm enough to melt 😋

But this weekend, a random craving for toast hit hard.

So Sunday breakfast became eggs and toast three ways 🤣

🥑 Avocado toast
🍓 Strawberry jam toast
🧈 And of course, toast with butter

No fancy recipe. No testing. No special occasion.

Just a simple breakfast that absolutely hit the spot.

Craving satisfied 🤍
