I realize that I’ve not introduced ourselves. 🫣

Hi! We are Candice and Derek Kennedy, high school sweethearts, outdoor lovers, bird watchers, and Jesus followers.

We have been on a crazy and unexpected journey that led us to realize we needed to slow down and really enjoy life. This led to our purchase of a 150 year old farmhouse in the middle of farm country.

Let me introduce you to Old Penn. A unique farmhouse located at the corner of Old State and Penn. Our dreams for this property grow into reality every year. The love and energy we’ve spent pouring into our house needed a new outlet as the renovations settled.

That brings us to Old Penn mini farm and micro bakery. Small batch sourdough, fresh veggies, and homemade jams, I dream of growing this tiny business into a more than just a hobby.

Thank you for coming along with us! We are excited to bring a piece of Old Penn to our community.

My husband told me he’s tired of Sourdough. I think it’s time for a new husband. 🤣 I’m convinced he’s just tired of the burnt parchment paper peices that seem to find their way around the house.

He’s tired of it, so I have one ready to go that was going to be for us 🥲

I’ve been asked about gluten free sourdough. It’s possible but it’s a lengthy process because it would require an additional starter. Before I jump into gluten free, I want to see where the interest is. Who would like a gluten free option?
