What a great opportunity!
For the first time in 2020, Brook Ledge is giving the gift of round-trip travel to one full-time student who wants to take their horse to college — but doesn’t have the means to get there.
This is an exciting opportunity for all of you horse lovers that may need help getting your horse to school. Already enrolled in school? Waiting to start your first semester this fall? No problem. The Road Scholar award is open to any incoming or current undergraduate student under the age of 24. What’s more, you don’t need to be on the equestrian team or have a horse-related major to participate.
You have until April 30th to apply: https://buff.ly/2UI5dRb

It feels like 9 degrees out and Parker’s doing this. Apparently he has never watched A Christmas Story.

Just an FYI for anyone showing here at MCF tomorrow- rte 248 is closed at the school bus lot. Anyone coming from the south could take 145 to a right onto Blue Mountain Dr, which will then intersect with 248, make a right onto 248. The farm is less than a mile, on the left.
Anyone driving from Nazareth/ Easton could take 248 to Daniels Rd, follow this for a few miles, cross over 512 ( Daniels Rd will become Community Dr), follow to the 4 way stop at Lattemans Deli and make a right onto 946. Follow 946 until it intersects with 248. Make a left onto 248. MCF will be a few miles down on the left.
Note- rte 248 & Lehigh Dr are just different names for the same road

So true!
:D
Georgia and Hunter have been very busy since yesterday. Last night Georgia made sand angels in Matt’s glow in the dark kinetic sand. This morning Hunter hitched a ride on top of Matt’s tractor trailer. Of course he almost fell off. Then he and Georgia got into a battle with Matt’s Nerf guns. It was all fun and games until Hunter got shot in the eye with one of the foam darts. The doctor says he’ll be fine but he needs to wear a patch for a few days. So Hunter stayed home to rest this evening and Georgia went with everyone to Peddlers Village. She loved the Christmas lights especially the tunnel of lights. She wanted to buy all the candy at the candy shop but settled on a giant lollipop, a big pack of Smarties and a pack of bubble gum ci******es. She told the kids she’d share the bubble gum with them tomorrow.
The elves had a pretty quiet day today. Abby introduced them to her new stuffed silkie chicken and to Oreo. Oreo wasn’t quite sure what to make of them. Especially when Hunter jumped on his back and tried to ride on him like an ostrich. Hunter fell off.
Then Abby invited them to come home with her to watch tv this afternoon and to have a sleepover tonight. Abby really loves her elf friends. She even made sure they got a goodnight kiss from Mommy.
So Santa was in a surprisingly good mood when he found out Hunter and Georgia had overslept (somebody might have spiked his eggnog?). He told them that they could stay a couple extra days. So the elves have called a temporary Christmas truce with Pilgrim and will be spending the day with her at the barn. Merry Christmas!!🎄🎁
Yesterday the elves slept in and just missed seeing one of Santa’s helpers who stopped by to take some photos with the ponies. Hunter and Georgia were so bummed.
Later Georgia went to the grocery store with Rachel and Abby to pick up ingredients for some brownies. Then she went to their house with them to watch some tv with Abby while Rachel baked. The brownies ended up getting burnt though:( The elves dressed up and went with the family to the Christmas Eve service at church and then to a party.
Hunter and Georgia were supposed to get to bed early so that they could head home to help Santa, but they didn’t hear their alarm clock and overslept. We’ll have to see what Santa has to say about that...
Yesterday Hunter went along to the Christmas tree farm to pick out a tree for Mom Mom and Pop Pop. Georgia decided to stay home because she still had the sniffles. The ground was a little muddy so Hunter rode in Rachel’s pocket while the kids looked for the perfect tree. Matt and Abby tried to saw the tree down themselves but didn’t have much luck. Hunter really liked the ride in the tree as Matt dragged it down to be baled. Once the tree was ready to be loaded on the truck, Hunter and Abby stopped for a quick pic to remember the fun day they had.
Hunter and Georgia slept in today. They slept and slept and slept. They slept so long that the kids at the barn kept asking why they wouldn’t wake up. I told them the kids that elves sleep a lot. Kind of like the cat😂 When they finally woke up, Hunter and Georgia said they just wanted to relax and didn’t really want to do a whole lot today. Hunter decided to try to make friends with Pilgrim. It went well for a while because he was feeding her treats. But she only tolerated him snuggling with her for a short time and then she bit him. It doesn’t look like they’re going to be able to be friends after all.
Both elves fed the chickens some treats later and they were able to make friends with them, even the yellow-legged rooster.
Both Hunter and Georgia decided to turn in early tonight. Georgia seemed to be sniffling a bit, so hopefully she didn’t catch a cold from her tubing excursion in the rain yesterday. Not sure what exactly they’re up to tomorrow but they said have some more fun things planned for the next few days.
Hunter shared this video of Georgia tubing
The elves had a really busy day yesterday. Georgia decided to go tubing even though it was raining. Later Georgia and Hunter decided to do some climbing (and they even helped Tucker learn the alphabet at the same time😂). Later, they saw the ribbon wreaths that Rachel, Kali and Renee made so they decided to do some crafting of their own. It didn’t really go so well though. They said they planned to sleep in today and just relax a bit.
Update, thank you angels everywhere, we raised over $3000.00 in monetary, feed/food and hay donations. These horses will be truly well fed this winter. Offers of help and support for this family were overwhelming! Every last one of you is a HERO!
Friends, clients, animal lovers, horse people.
Please share this and help us with a Christmas miracle. We were contacted by a wonderful lady tonight (a client, who loves her horses). We have known this family for years and taken care of their pets. This family is hurting. They have fallen on tough times, husband recently had a heart attack and is awaiting bypass surgery, so has been unable to work due to this disability, amongst many other terrible things that just keep piling up.They have been trying hard to start an Equine therapy program for disabled kids and adults with mental and physical disabilities. They go above and beyond for people and animals. Their house is on the market but with no buyers. They need to feed their horses through the winter. Come spring they have a place to send them in Western PA, so we want to help spread the word so people can donate hay and grain. Even one bag of grain or one bale of hay from someone will help them. They are desperate and have about 3 weeks worth of food left for their precious animals. And barely any groceries for themselves. Let's make a difference if we can. Please contact Adele at [email protected] if you can help. Monetary donations can be made via Paypal at www.Quakertownvetclinic.com Angel Fund - please mark Donation - Feed the Horses, 100% of money collected for this cause will go to buy food for these horses and donkeys.
We want to try and total 200 bales of hay and 50 bags if grain. Thank you all. Please share! They have tried Go fund me before and had no donations, let's band together and help this family, please.
List as follows:
Based on the horses and donkeys differing needs, we use a variety of feeds. There may be additional comparable brands which is fine; we would simply make changes gradually. I put in parenthesis approximately how many bags we need of each feed for two months.
I also added the other things that we need for their care.
1. (15) Purina All Stages or Blue Seal Trotter
2. (8) Purina Senior or Buckeye EQ 8 Senior
3. (6) Buckeye Grow & Win
4. (4) Buckeye Growth Textured Sweet (or any type sweet)
5. (6) Buckeye Ultimate Finish (or any high fat feed good for a 'hard keeper')
6. (4) Blue Seal Carb Guard (or any type feed appropriate for Equine Metabolic Syndrome)
Hay - for two months, we need between 150 and 180 bales.
Supplements - Heave Ho for respiratory problems (one has allergies and is prone to heaves)
- Cosequin ASU+
Shavings - any amount would be helpful
If there are any farriers who could donate service once or twice, we would be very grateful or if anyone could donate money toward the farrier, our farrier's name is Patrick Kocker (Blue Rose Forge). The cost is $315.00. They have never been overdue, but are currently one week overdue.
Of course, we would also be absolutely thrilled for any donations to our outstanding vet bills.
We will meet anyone where it is convenient for them.
So many amazing people out there, Thank you ALL. The client has given me permission to post her cell # it is 724-998-0748, please text first, so she knows who is calling and why. Ask for Peggy. This truly is what the holiday season is about, you are all wonderful ###
I found this message when I got to the barn yesterday. What the??
The elves are back!! The elves are back!! They said they can only stay for a few days though. Georgia told me they couldn’t make it last year because they were super busy helping Santa. This year Santa “strongly suggested” that Hunter take a few days off after a little laundry incident in which Hunter accidentally shrunk all of Santa’s suits. Georgia was asked to go with Hunter to try to keep him out of trouble (good luck with that😂). Hayes, their dog, stayed with Santa and the other elves at the North Pole because he remembered that MCF has a naughty black cat who doesn’t like dogs (or elves). He also heard there may be a yellow legged rooster who’s even worse than the cat.
So the last I heard, the elves were going to settle into their magical glamper and take a nap after their long ride to get here. We’ll have to see what they’re up to later.
Do I smell Christmas cookies?!?
These two are too ridiculously cute!
Happy Thanksgiving! (We discovered the hens love Pringles😂)
Cuteness overload!
This purse was discovered missing after the show today. If anyone happens to know where it is please text me 267-718-5887. It’s owner would just like it returned, no questions asked. Thanks.
Such a beautiful day for a horse show! Thank you to everyone who came out today. Hope to see everyone again in the spring!
