Well i at least know who the culprit is now, and honestly of all the predators it could have been a coyote is easier to deter than a big cat. The baby goats have been moved to a more secure pen for now, and a single coyote is not likely to be much of a threat to my adult goats and wont bother the horses at all. Even so, everyone will be locked up a bit more securely at night until this critter realizes the buffet is closed and moves on.

Cute picture for a sad day on the farm. I heard some commotion with the turkeys around 4 am. Stuck my head out there but didnt see anything and everyone seemed to have settled. Well got up today to my entire breeding flock of narragansett dead. Something killed all 6 of them, ate parts of 2 of them. Im putting cameras up tonight to hopefully see if anything comes back for the kills so I know what im dealing with. Whatever it was tried to dig in to the run first but ran into the wire I have all around the bottom. It must have paced the netting until it found a seam around a post and tree that it managed to squeeze through. Their first batch of eggs also seems to have failed, I have one more tray due to lockdown in 4 days and today I put every egg i had left from them in the incubator but chances are ill need to find a breeder to order from and rebuild my flock.

I heard a huge bang and commotion downstairs, ran down in a panic thinking my dad had dropped the car on him self or something big like that but no. It was Corrie, spooking everyone with her predicament. Pie went through the fence into the baby pen, is luckily just fine and fence repaired. I saved Corrie from the chupacabra bucket and all is well.

Oregon Ag Fest was a blast this year. I got to show my friends Llama Bertie in obstacle, had lots of fun letting kids give milking a try, and am still exhausted!

Jewel is an absolute treasure, this doe was sooooo patient even with a few side eye looks at wtf was going on back there with little kids getting to learn first hand where milk comes from! Her daughter's Calypso and TT stood with the same patience. This doe really is my favorite and im so glad she is a huge foundational part of my herd. She just shows up to work every day and her daughters are the same. I do have 3 bucklings available from her last little if anyone needs some serious workhorse genetics in their milking herd! Temperament, conformation, and milk!
