For those of you who don’t know us, here is a little bit about our farm and how we started D/P Angus…

We are a family-owned and operated farm. “We” as in Dana Jr and Penny Wood which is where our business name comes from. Our farm started in the 90s as we raised cross-bred beef. We thought we were doing well until we started learning about registered Angus and purchased a couple. That being said, we never looked back. The growth, taste, and unremarkable difference were unbelievable. We now raise and sell registered Angus beef and registered Angus bulls.

In the future, we plan to sell breeding stock concentrating on maternal values as well as carcass values that are admired by our customers. Our goal is to raise the best quality beef that we can.

The cows are rotationally grazed on our 25 paddocks in the summer months and are fed baleage as well as dry hay in the winter months. It is produced from our hay fields that are used as no-till crop production to conserve the land. As our calves get weaned we start them on grain and finish them with corn to boost their marbling for taste satisfaction. We do NOT add any extra growth hormones. What you see and taste is the genetics we strive for.

Anyone is welcome to come and take a tour and check our cattle out as they grow. We take in 2 to 3 beef a month for processing. We sell quarters, halves, and wholes for $3 per pound plus cut and wrap. Our meat gets processed at Warsaw Meat Packing where they do a remarkable job satisfying our customers.
