Back home and unloaded from a close to home competition…we love those. St. Ann Police Association BBQ Pro Competition was awesome! This was a there meat, which gave us a lot more time to relax, which was weird, usually pretty frantic. This was a very well ran competition as all Dan Murphy competitions are. The three meats were Chicken, Ribs, and Tri-Tip. As well as People’s Choice Ribs. Here is how we did:

Chicken 🐔:6th 💰 Springer Mountain Farms
Ribs 🍖: 5th 💰 Prairie Fresh
Tri-Tip 🐮: 4th 💰 (Wild Child! 💰)
Overall: 5th
People’s Choice Ribs: 1st 💰

The people have spoken! Pretty excited about the PC win, gave us a little more gas money. Congratulations to OnlyCans Competition BBQ on the GC and Mess-in-a Round BBQ on the RGC, both teammates of ours. . Got a week off then starts 5 in a row for us. Thanks to our sponsors for the support.

We are back home unpacked and rested from Newton American Legion Post #20 Smoke Off . Jim and Tina Messina do an amazing job at this contest, the music is awesome, car show, tractor show, and great food. The weather was fantastic and was a great day to smoke some meat! Here are the results:

Chicken 🐔: 14th Springer Mountain Farms
Ribs 🍖: 3rd Perfect Score! Prairie Fresh
Pork 🐷: 12th Korte Meat Processing
Brisket 🐮: 17th Snake River Farms
Overall: 10th

Congratulations to DR Smoke on the GC and Burnt Crow on the RGC. A lot of high scoring and perfect scores were had this weekend. On to the next one for us next week in St. Ann for a three meat contest. We continue the schedule grind with only two weekends off till November! Found this little pitmaster needing a ride east to Newton, IL this morning! Eastbound and Down, Loaded up and trucking! Safe travels to all the teams headed to this competition and all the Pitmasters headed to comps all around the world.

We are headed home after an amazing full team trip to Excelsior Springs, MO. We competed in the BBQ & Fly In on the River and tried to get one of the most sought after trophies, a wooden plane. We headed down a day early and stayed a day later at The Elms hotel which is a beautiful historic hotel with a pool. This trip was amazing and we will definitely be back!

This was one of the better ran contests that we have ever attended. It was hot! And 83 total teams! The staff here did an amazing job and we got to hang out with a bunch of our bbq family. As for the cook, we were pretty pleased with where we “landed” in this all star field…pun intended.
