Spring has arrived in central South Dakota, and we hope you've had a good winter. The Muddy Pumpkin Farms operation will be smaller this year, but we'll try to send a few notes out here and there, about farming techniques or kitties or a type of melon we just love. Anyone here have important food-related stories to share with us?

If you're in the Rapid City area, remember to stop by the farmers market today. We have melons, loads of tomatoes, great red peppers, and all kinds of other tasty produce!

Come early for melons! At the Black Hills market in Rapid City on Saturday, we'll have the following: kale, chard, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, red tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, mystery garlic, fingerling potatoes, basil, AND... for the first time this season: melons!!

Heirloom tomatoes (pictured), reds, and cherry tomatoes
Pickling and slicing cucumbers
Hot peppers, sweet peppers, and bell peppers
Eggplant
Beets
Lettuce
Fingerling potatoes

At the Black Hills Farmers Market tomorrow, we will have Kale, Chard, Eggplant, Cherry tomatoes, Heirloom tomatoes, Red tomatoes, Peppers, Red potatoes, and lots of CUCUMBERS!!! (slicing cukes, lemon cukes, and Poona Kheeras). Can't wait to see you there!
