I have been studying cooking and BBQ for as long as I can remember. This was inspired by my grandmother and mother spending countless hours in the kitchen, and my father spending even more hours lighting the grill. I was drawn into the commitment and passion to create something everyone would enjoy. I did a few backyard BBQ competitions just to see what my skills were, and the feed back and compli

ments encouraged me to turn my unique style into an actual business. Please contact me for any of your catered BBQ needs. Anything from weddings, retirements, graduations, summer parties, tailgate parties, fund raisers, pretty much anything you can imagine I am willing to work with. Ribs, brisket, chopped beef, steaks, taco bars, prime rib sit down meals, a made to order smash burger stand, if you have a dream, I will do my best to reach/exceed it. I use only my own recipes when it comes to seasons and sauces. I am willing to switch it up or come up with something completely unique for your special event. As a proud USMC Veteran owned business I will never forget where I came from. My family has stood by me every step of the way and my goal is to help others as I grow in my own journey. This is why I put giving back to the community at the top of my list. Any event that Chunky Ray’s BBQ is a part of, I will personally donate a portion of my own profits to a local charity the customer is passionate about. All I ask is for a chance to exceed your expectations.

First off, apologies because I am not good at updating social media as much as I should.

Secondly, this Sunday will be the 5th annual Burn Pit BBQ Backyard Competition. This is something close to my heart. I competed at year one, have competed every year after, and plan on competing every year it is held.

An amazing part of this competition is that it is not about making a name for yourself. You don’t have to be a major competitor with sponsors to participate. The judges are locals. The community not only gets to taste test, but also has a vote.

The BEST part is that every year, this event raises epic amounts of money for local Veterans charities. Enough said.

If you have a few hours on Sunday, please stop at Southridge Mall. You will smell the food, and see the crowd. You will not be disappointed.

As we honor the 250th Birthday of the US Army, I am reminded of my grandfather. The following recording was salvaged from a school project many years ago. It was the first and only time he ever talked about his time in WWII from start to finish. I know it’s long, but it is worth watching. Without men like him, I wouldn’t be able to do what I do today.
