Teeswaters are a rare heritage breed, known for their long, lustrous locks and valuable wool. With numbers declining over the years, thoughtful breeding programs are essential to preserving their genetics and keeping this remarkable breed thriving.

Our journey began over four decades ago with a chance encounter — a sick sheep on a farm call in Pacific County, where Ken, a recent veterinary school graduate, met Nan, a local fiber artist.

What followed was a harmonious blend of science and artistry. We raised four children and built a thriving veterinary practice while nurturing our deep connection to the land through shepherding our beloved sheep.

On our family farm, we specialize in breeding high quality Wensleydales, Teeswaters, Valais crosses, and purebred Valais Blacknose sheep. Today we take pride in sharing our flock of registered heritage longwool breeds, celebrated for their luxurious, lustrous fleeces. Central to our mission is the preservation of these remarkable endangered fiber producers, championing the cause of genetic diversity in our flocks.

Through our fiber products and the story of our farm, we aspire to ignite your curiosity about these breeds and perhaps even awaken the shepherd within you 🐑✨

Get home from FLOCK and realize you needed one more skein? 🧶🐑

We’ve updated our website inventory following this past weekend’s festival! If there was a particular yarn you were hoping to grab more of, now’s the time to take a look. If you don’t see it listed, it likely found a new home at the event.

Every one of our yarns is produced in small batches from the fleece of an individual sheep, making each batch truly one of a kind. The same sheep’s wool may be spun into a different weight or style the next time it’s shorn, and even the natural color of the fleece can change over time. That’s why we always recommend picking up an extra skein if you’re unsure how much you’ll need for a project.

If the yarn you were hoping for has sold out, send us an email with photos and any details you have about your yarn. We’ll do our best to find the closest match from what’s still available or help point you toward the best alternative 💛

Thank You, FLOCK Fiber Festival 🐑🧶💜

This was our third year attending FLOCK Fiber Festival, and every year leaves us even more grateful than the last.

Felicia and Frida are happily back home with the rest of the flock after a weekend full of head scratches, wagon rides, and greeting so many smiling faces. They genuinely seemed to enjoy the attention as much as we enjoyed sharing them with you!

Our wool products truly are a happy by-product of raising the sheep we care so deeply about, so it means the world to be welcomed so warmly by the knitting and fiber arts community year after year. It was an absolute joy meeting longtime customers in person, hearing about the projects you’ve created with our wool, and learning about the ones you’re dreaming up next.

We want to extend a massive thank you and kudos to Jess for putting on such a wonderful and special event. We deeply appreciate your willingness to help us accommodate the animals and your support in every other step along the way!
