We ❤️💩❗️

Another happy byproduct of sheep, that is not so commonly talked about as their wool, is the incredible compost & fertilizer that their 💩 produces!

The proof is in the pudding! Or rather, in the garden 🌿 Our plants and fields flourish thanks to the rich nutrients the compost provides.

Sheep farmers everywhere can attest to this! 🐏 👑

Fan of Wensleydale wool? Try Teeswater! 🐑✨

Teeswater sheep produce some of the softest, brightest, and most beautiful natural white wool you will ever see or feel. While they dont produce other natural colors like our Wensleydales do, their wool is just as comparable in terms of quality and suitability for a wide variety of uses 🧶

Not to mention, as an Endangered Breed, making use of Teeswater wool, like yarn or roving, in any project helps to guarantee their place in the future 🌎

Forget the term Longwools we’re calling these babies Wensleydale Longlegs!!

The lambing storm swept in fast - lambing out 20 high percentage Wensleydale ewes in over a course of 4-5 days.

We have the most beautiful high percentage genetics (American Purebred) and it shows. We are thrilled with our mamas and their gorgeous lambs. Lots of natural color, black and white.

Today, on Endangered Species Day, we’re honoring the incredible Teeswater sheep; a rare heritage breed we’ve proudly raised here at Wild Rose Farm for well over a decade. 🐑

Over the years, these sheep have completely captured our hearts with their personalities, striking appearance, and some of the most beautiful wool we’ve ever worked with. Teeswater fleece is known around the world for its incredible luster, silky handle, and long locks, making it highly sought after by handspinners, fiber artists, and textile enthusiasts alike.

Beyond their beauty, Teeswaters represent something deeply important: the preservation of rare livestock genetics and the continuation of heritage breeds that could easily be lost without passionate breeders and shepherds committed to their future.

For us, raising Teeswater sheep has never been just about producing exceptional wool. It’s about stewardship, conservation, and helping ensure this remarkable breed continues to thrive for generations to come.

Would you like to contribute to the preservation of this extraordinary breed? We’d love to connect with others interested in bringing Teeswater sheep to their own farms. Reach out to start the conversation💛

“Just one fleece.”
“I’m only browsing.”
“I don’t need more yarn.”

Well the sheep have a few things of their own to say!
