NO SKIMP ON SHRIMP!
Just had to give a thumbs up to LUCKY DRAGON (our Local Chinese Restaurant) for a tasty shrimp fried rice. I grabbed one to go today and have to say they do not skimp on the shrimp! There is pretty much a shrimp in every other bite! I love the fact that they don’t skimp on it. They do skimp a tiny bit on the egg, however. I don’t really see any and nothing other than bean sprouts besides shrimp and rice. But can’t complain because of the plentiful shrimp! Check it out!

Tonight’s dinner: Take out from Thian’s Thai Fusion. Not real interested in eating at the restaurant, as it basically is just a place to sit and eat. But the food is very good! I had Phad Thai with prawns and veggie egg rolls. The egg rolls were perfect, but the Phad Thai could use a bit more sauce and egg, but still good. I chose mild spice which they did well. Overall: 7.5/10.

Best OJ and Lemonade stand in town! It’s right near Emerson Elementary as you are going into Hoquiam. Riley is raising money to buy her new baby brother a present and to do cheer like her older sister! Check them out! They should be open for the next few weekends and occasional afternoons.

This is VERY accurate, in our humble opinion! Porthole has clearly the best chowder, and Emily’s is definitely 2nd among all the entrants. Fun fact: Emily’s puts salmon in their razor clam chowder for the extra yum!

Check out this Early Bird dinner menu! Available Thursdays and Sundays 3-5 pm. It comes with choice of Cesear salad or soup of the day, a generous piece of focaccia, main course choice, and small dessert choice. We had the soup which was a creamy mushroom, and pictured here is the linguine with goat cheese. I forgot to take a pic of the desserts. All for $24! A great deal! 9.5/10!

Awesome breakfast. Check out the blueberry pancake! Today’s order was the omelet with spinach, mushrooms and onions with perfectly cooked hashbrowns. Guess what?! You can swap out the toast choice for a big pancake! A blueberry one for a little more. You have to try it. 10/10! Ask for Felicia if she’s around. A great server!

Ocean Shores McDonald’s drive thru lunch. ..
I typically go here about twice a month for a quick lunch that I take to the beach and eat in my car—can’t really get a better deal than a happy meal for $6. And yes, not only kids are allowed to purchase this. With the use of the app and it’s $1.50 off a happy meal, I get the 6 piece nugget with two kids size fries (instead of apples), and they even let me get a small coffee! Total including tax is $5.99. Given that, there are obviously a few downers. The line is very very slow, at least most of the time. And please make sure you check your bag or happy meal box. The last time they forgot the main entrée, which is the nuggets! They also act like it’s an act of Congress to get some tartar sauce for you. Most of the time, they make me pull around to the side and wait 4 or 5 minutes and bring me out tartar. I’m not sure what the deal is with that. Today’s happy meal, as you can see, was quite disheveled, with all the fries at the bottom of the box. Make sure you ask for double the tartar if you want it, because they only fill the cups about one third of the way full. I still will go back because it is such an awesome deal, plus I can give the toy to a cute little kid, I know! ❤️

A HUGE SHOUT OUT to this hidden gem of a store…Sunset Drug (next to IGA). Well, not a restaurant, but it is a place very noteworthy for those looking for the following options:
Gluten-Free
Keto
Vegan
Vegetarian
Organic
Dairy Free
Sugar Free
Environmentally Friendly
I would say that part of the store is kind of like a mini Whole Foods. It’s really the only thing like it within 40 miles of us here in Ocean Shores,. Check it out. Also, a lot of great pet items, gift items, toys and games, plus you have the pharmacy and Ship and Print all at your fingertips! Prices are a little higher than the norm, but it’s worth the extra for these options. 9.5/10!
