Religious crimes code of 1833 banned ceremonial feasts and the Dawes act of 1883 removed native youth from the environment. Thanks to AIRFa, the American Indian Freedom Of Religion Act, Millenials born in 1983 are the 1 generation that doesn’t have to hide their culture. The AIRFA policy allows access to natural resources for traditional religious activity. The work we’re doing now is to bring our people back in community, eat traditional foods, and educate our youth to reclaim our beliefs that if we take care of the earth, the earth will take care of us. Happy fall equinox aka “Fall Indian holy holy day”! 🖖🏾😎

Lots going on this week and grateful to be in community. This is tonight in McCloud.

🌿 We’re just 10 days away from Skyline’s Fall Garden Social!

On September 23, our garden will become a place to gather, learn, celebrate and, of course, share some incredible food. 🍽️🌱

Join us for an afternoon of intercultural dishes, local food systems training, networking with regional leaders, and celebrating the volunteers who help make Skyline’s work possible. We’ll also be looking ahead to new opportunities to learn, grow and get involved in 2027.

Whether you’re passionate about gardening, food systems, service, or simply strengthening our community, there’s a place for you at the table. 💚

📅 September 23 | 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m.
📍 Skyline Urban Outreach Garden
500 SE 15th Street, Oklahoma City
