My cousin and her hubby who live just outside Boston came to down to hang out with me for a little bit while I was on the Cape! We ate at some delicious seafood shacks and clam houses because I had to have all the New England seafood essentials: clam chowder, clam bake, and lobster rolls!

I was in Cape Cod last week and my cousin and her husband took me on a whale watching excursion. We were incredibly lucky because on this particular day, conditions were just right and I'll admit, I felt a bit like Moana with all the dolphins and whales coming out. Our ship was surrounded by what seemed like a hundred dolphins, as well as a dozen humpback whales. The tour guide operator said this was NOT at all normal to have this many sightings in one trip. (We went with Hyannis Whale Watcher Cruises in case you're intersested.) Afterwards, we had a wonderful meal at Spanky's Clam Shack and all three of their soups were amazing (my favorite was their seafood chowder but you can't go wrong with anything), and I had my first clam bake! It was a phenomenal day and we ended it with a little walk on the beach next to a boardwalk. Stay tuned for all the delicious places I hit while out on the Cape!

You've probably heard of or have already had pho, or the ever so popular bánh mì... but one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes is called bánh xèo. It's a savory Vietnamese pancake (or crepe) that's crispy, filled with pork, shrimp, bean sprouts, and eaten with lots of greens and herbs. It's probably the best way to get me to eat leafy greans if I'm being honest. But if you've never had it or been curious, here's how to eat it and a few places in the OKC metro you can get it! I really do hope you'll try it and let me know how it is!

Afternoon Tea for Two right in OKC! (Didn't have to fly to London for this one!) Kristin invited me to be her plus one for her Tea for Two experience at Ganache Patisserie and we were in for a treat! Not only were the finger sandwiches and desserts delicious and abundant, the service, teas, and coffees were exceptional. We took home plenty of leftovers, but also ordered even MORE pastries to bring home to our families. Croissants, cloud cakes, macarons, and lattes to name a few. For your next girls day out or maybe a mommy/daughter thing to do, I highly recommend not only the Tea for Two, but just to stop in for a treat. Also... they cater too! Kristin used their services to cater her father's 70th birthday!

I can't believe I had never been to Granny's Kitchen before... thinking it was just another egg and bacon joint. Their service and cinnamon rolls were outstanding and while they have classic staples of an egg and bacon joint, they also have unique dishes that were delicious too. Their portions are huge, food was fresh and cooked well, and the both times I went, I had enough leftovers for a second meal.

Triple birthday celebration with my girl group! La Buca happens to be open on a Monday and could accommodate our large group. Beautiful restaurant with excellent service. The fried calamari, ragu, and branzino were the standout dishes.

$2 Cold Water Oyster Happy Hour!!! Or known as Golden Hour at Juliette Oyster Bar & Steakhouse . But have no fear, there are wonderful options for non seafood lovers in your group. Golden Hour is Tues-Thurs 4-6PM. We feasted from both the Golden Hour and dinner menus and left completely satisfied and ready to come back. Owned by a husband and wife team and named after their daughter, Juliette's menu, ambiance, and service stands out among the restaurants in downtown Norman.

When out-of-town friends come visit, and we all have reasons to celebrate... a visit to one of my favorite steakhouses is in order! Stock & Bond OKC is a beautiful upscale steakhouse located in the historic First National Center in downtown OKC. They have a massive American wh***ey collection, and their steaks and sides are top notch. I have always had wonderful dining experiences here, having been in for many birthdays and girls nights.
